The reference Qatar Airways itinerary gives you 5 nights in Cairo followed by 3 nights in Doha. That is a very useful split: enough time to explore Cairo without rushing, followed by a shorter and more relaxed stop in Qatar.
For Cairo, my pick is the Kempinski Nile Hotel in Garden City, directly on the Nile and close to the centre. In Doha, I would consider the Wyndham Grand Doha West Bay Beach, a 5-star property in West Bay with beach access, strong guest feedback and a very convenient location for a short city stay.
I would keep the full 5-night Cairo stay on the reference itinerary. Cairo is not a destination I would try to squeeze into two days: the Pyramids of Giza, museums, Islamic Cairo, Coptic Cairo, the Nile and the city's food scene can easily fill several days.
Enough time for the pyramids, museums, historic Cairo, a Nile evening and one slower day without turning the stop into a sightseeing marathon.
Garden City is a very practical base for a first visit: close to central Cairo while giving you a more polished hotel environment directly beside the Nile.
The reference flight reaches Cairo at 23:05, so I would pre-arrange the hotel transfer, check in and start sightseeing properly the following morning.
For the Cairo portion of this trip, I would happily spend the full five nights at the Kempinski Nile Hotel Cairo. This is a proper 5-star city hotel in Garden City, directly on the Nile and close enough to central Cairo to make sightseeing practical without sacrificing the comfort of a high-end base.
The displayed Booking.com listing shows a strong 8.6/10 guest rating from almost 3,000 reviews, with staff rated 9.1. Facilities include a rooftop outdoor swimming pool, spa and wellness centre, fitness centre, free Wi-Fi, room service and two restaurants.
The Nile setting is a major part of the appeal. After a full day dealing with Cairo traffic, heat and sightseeing, having a polished hotel with a rooftop pool, spa and river views is exactly the kind of upgrade that can make this part of the trip much more relaxing.

The second part of the trip is deliberately shorter. Three nights in Doha is enough for Souq Waqif, the Corniche, the Museum of Islamic Art or National Museum, West Bay and a desert excursion, while still leaving time to enjoy the hotel rather than spending every hour sightseeing.
A very good length for a first Doha visit and exactly what makes this 2-in-1 itinerary work so well.
West Bay gives you a polished hotel district, skyline views, restaurants and straightforward access to the Corniche and other major Doha sights.
With only three nights, a hotel with pool, spa, beach access and restaurants can become part of the stopover rather than simply somewhere to sleep.
For the three-night Doha portion, the Wyndham Grand Doha West Bay Beach is a very attractive combination of location, facilities and price. It is a 5-star property in West Bay, one of the easiest areas for a short first visit, with direct beach access and views across Doha's modern waterfront.
The displayed listing shows an excellent 8.9/10 guest rating from more than 9,000 reviews and a particularly strong 9.4/10 location score. Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, spa and wellness centre, sauna, fitness centre, free Wi-Fi, free on-site parking and three restaurants.
This is exactly the kind of hotel I like for a short Doha stop: you are close enough to the city's main sights to explore efficiently, but the pool, beach access and spa mean you can also use part of the stay simply to relax after several busy days in Cairo.
For the displayed 2-5 November stay for two adults, the lowest room shown starts around €406 total for 3 nights. I would personally consider the flexible option at around €427 total, which shows free cancellation before 1 November 2026 and no prepayment - pay at the property.
