For aviation enthusiasts, that consistency is a major advantage:
there is no short regional sector dropping you into a basic recliner product.
The lowest price is through Mytrip, but the direct SriLankan Airlines
fare is only around €73 more on the reference itinerary.
On a complicated multi-city Business Class booking worth more than €3,600,
I would personally prefer paying that relatively small premium to keep the reservation
directly with the operating airline.
The Colombo-to-Melbourne flight leaves at 00:35, and the final Colombo-to-Paris
flight leaves at 00:25. These are perfectly usable Business Class timings,
but they are still overnight departures and worth noting.
This is the lowest price found for the reference 2-in-1 Business Class itinerary.
The saving compared with SriLankan Airlines direct is only around
€73.
If choosing the OTA, check the final total and ticket conditions carefully before payment.
For this particular deal, I would personally pay the small premium and book directly.
The airline proof shows the Biz Value fare with
checked baggage, 2 x 7 kg hand baggage, free seat selection,
lounge access, priority check-in, priority baggage and priority boarding.
On a multi-city Business Class ticket this expensive, keeping the reservation directly
with the operating airline is worth the modest difference.

The reference Business Class itinerary gives you roughly 8 nights in Sri Lanka before continuing to Melbourne for around 11 nights in Australia. I would not spend either part of the trip in one hotel for the entire stay.
In Sri Lanka, the smartest use of a week is to concentrate on a compact route rather than trying to cross the whole island. For March, I would focus on the south and southwest, combining Galle / Unawatuna with Mirissa, Weligama or Matara, and optionally adding one final different stop if you are comfortable moving around. In Melbourne, I would keep around 4-5 nights in the city and use the remaining time for a wider Victoria trip.
Your flight lands in Colombo at 05:25 on 11 March. That early arrival is important when choosing the first hotel because normal check-in will usually be much later in the day.
Because the flight reaches Colombo at 05:25 on 11 March, you may arrive at your hotel many hours before
standard check-in.
If having a room immediately is important, consider reserving the room from the night of 10 March.
This can be particularly worthwhile after a long Business Class flight if you want to shower, sleep for a few hours and start the trip properly rested.
Contact the hotel before travelling. Explain that your flight lands early on 11 March but that the reservation starts on 10 March,
and ask them to hold the room for your morning arrival. Otherwise, the hotel could treat the unused night as a no-show.
If you plan to travel directly from the airport towards Galle instead of staying in Colombo, ask the Galle hotel about early check-in.
If they cannot guarantee it, the same previous-night strategy can be used there.
I would resist the temptation to add Colombo, Kandy, Sigiriya, Ella, Galle and the south coast all into one week. Sri Lanka looks small on a map, but travel times can eat into the trip. For this fare, a focused south-coast itinerary is the more relaxed option.
Spend around two nights around Galle / Unawatuna, three nights farther east around Mirissa, Weligama or Matara, then use the final two nights either for more beach time or a different stop before returning towards Colombo airport.
Split the week between Galle / Unawatuna and Mirissa / Weligama / Matara. This is what I would choose if relaxation matters more than ticking off destinations.
You could replace part of the south-coast stay with Ella, but I would not add Ella on top of three separate coastal bases. Keep the route simple enough that transfers do not dominate the week.
Spend time inside the historic fortified old town rather than treating Galle only as a quick photo stop.
Mix sightseeing with proper beach time. March works especially well for concentrating on Sri Lanka's southwest and southern coast.
Use this part of the trip for a slower few days, coastal restaurants, surfing or optional marine excursions.
If you start missing greenery and hills, use one day for an inland excursion rather than adding another hotel change.
If you want more than the classic south-coast trip, I would choose one additional direction rather than trying to see the whole island. Galle is around the natural gateway to the south, while Mirissa and Matara take you farther along the coast.
Dino Sri Lanka idea: arrive 11 March → Galle / Unawatuna 2 nights → Mirissa / Weligama / Matara 3 nights → use the remaining 2 nights either for a slower coast stay, Ella, or a final base closer to Colombo before the 00:35 flight to Melbourne.The reference itinerary gives you around 11 nights in Australia. Melbourne deserves more than a quick stop, but I would still avoid spending all 11 nights in the CBD. My preference is 4-5 nights in Melbourne itself, followed by a regional Victoria trip, then one final night back in or near Melbourne before the flight home if your road trip takes you far from the city.
Enough time for the CBD, laneways, Queen Victoria Market, museums, food, Southbank and several inner neighbourhoods without rushing.
Great Ocean Road should be the priority if this is your first visit, then add Phillip Island, Yarra Valley or Mornington Peninsula.
If you finish with a road trip, return to Melbourne the day before departure so the final travel day stays relaxed.
Give yourself time to explore central Melbourne on foot instead of rushing between isolated attractions.
Melbourne is a city where food and neighbourhood atmosphere are part of the attraction, so leave room for unscheduled meals and markets.
Combine the Yarra River, galleries, architecture and an evening around Southbank rather than treating the city only as a base for day trips.
Use one day to get outside the CBD and experience a different side of Melbourne, whether that means St Kilda, Fitzroy, Collingwood or South Yarra.
With 11 nights available, the biggest mistake would be spending every night in central Melbourne. Victoria has several major destinations within a manageable distance, and the Great Ocean Road is the obvious first extension.
Dino 11-night Melbourne / Victoria idea: Melbourne 5 nights → Great Ocean Road 3 nights → Phillip Island 2 nights → Melbourne 1 final night.
