Maputo
+ Doha from €2,513
About this deal
This is a very strong Qatar Airways Business Class multi-city fare from Amsterdam to Maputo,
with a deliberate 3-night Doha stopover on the way home.
The October reference is 12–26 October 2026 and was showing at
€2,512.93 direct with Qatar Airways, which we round to €2,513 for the headline.
The outbound is the version we actually like: Amsterdam 22:15 → Doha 05:35+1 on
QR284, Airbus A350-1000 with Qsuite, followed by a very sensible
2h15 connection and Doha 07:50 → Maputo 14:45 on an A350-900.
On the return you fly Maputo → Doha, spend 3 nights in Qatar (23, 24 and 25 October),
then return Doha → Amsterdam on QR273, Boeing 777-300ER with Qsuite.
Starlink Wi-Fi is shown on all four sectors. Full-flight complimentary Starlink access is available
to Qatar Airways Privilege Club members, and the programme is free to join.
The fare is Business Lite, so the trade-off is important:
lounge access is not included and seat selection costs extra.
Reference: 12–26 Oct 2026
Doha hotel nights: 23, 24 & 25 Oct · 3 nights
Cabin: Business Class throughout
Qsuite: AMS–DOH + DOH–AMS
Checked baggage: 2 × 32 kg
Cabin baggage: 2 pieces · 15 kg total
More dates exist, but many involve 15+ hour outbound Doha connections.
Reference flight schedule
QR284 · Airbus A350-1000 · Qsuite · Starlink
Amsterdam 22:15 → Doha 05:35+1 · 6h20
2h15 protected connection in Doha
QR1375 · Airbus A350-900 · Starlink
Doha 07:50 → Maputo 14:45 · 7h55
This is the key reason we chose the October reference: the connection is clean and practical rather than
forcing you into a 15+ hour transit.
QR1376 · Airbus A350-900 · Starlink
Maputo 14:35 → Doha 23:40 · 8h05
Doha stopover: 3 nights · 23, 24 and 25 October
QR273 · Boeing 777-300ER · Qsuite · Starlink
Doha 08:35 → Amsterdam 13:20 · 6h45
Instead of treating Doha as an airport connection, this itinerary turns it into a useful second destination.
Route map
One efficient Doha connection outbound, then a deliberate Doha stopover before returning to Amsterdam.
AMS
Amsterdam
DOH
Doha
MPM
Maputo
The October outbound uses a 2h15 Doha connection. The return deliberately breaks the journey in Doha, creating a 3-night Qatar stopover on 23, 24 and 25 October before the Qsuite flight back to Amsterdam.
Fare proof
Qatar Airways showed the multi-city Business Lite itinerary at €2,512.93, which we round to €2,513. This is a direct-airline booking rather than an OTA fare.
Check Qatar Airways directly →Fare screenshots prove what was available when checked, not what will necessarily remain available later. Qatar may also change aircraft, so re-check that the AMS–DOH and DOH–AMS sectors still show Qsuite before paying if that product matters to you.
Why this fare works + important details
The product mix is excellent: A350-1000 Qsuite from Amsterdam to Doha, A350-900 Business Class between Doha and Maputo, and 777-300ER Qsuite from Doha back to Amsterdam. The Qatar stopover makes the return more interesting instead of simply extending the airport connection.
1. Only two clean combinations: we found only two date combinations around this price that meet Dino's routing standards.
2. More dates do exist: however, many involve 15+ hour Doha connections on the outbound.
Those may still suit travellers who deliberately want a long transit, but they are not the itineraries I would recommend as the reference deal.
3. Business Lite: despite flying Business Class, lounge access is not included and
seat selection costs extra.
4. Qsuite can change: the October reference currently shows Qsuite on both Amsterdam–Doha sectors,
but aircraft swaps are always possible.
5. Starlink: Starlink is shown on the itinerary. Full-flight complimentary access is available for
Privilege Club members; membership is free.

Booking options
Business Classic adds benefits such as lounge access, but it is normally substantially more expensive than Lite. I would only pay the difference if lounge access, fare flexibility or the extra inclusions are genuinely important to you.
Compare Qatar fare families →This is the fare I would choose. You still get the same Business Class seat, Qsuite on both Amsterdam–Doha sectors, A350 Business to and from Maputo, 2 × 32 kg checked baggage and Starlink. The compromises are no included lounge access and paid seat selection.
Book directly with Qatar Airways →Enter the itinerary as three sectors: 12 Oct AMS → MPM, 23 Oct MPM → DOH, and 26 Oct DOH → AMS. That is what creates the useful Doha stopover while preserving the Business Class fare. Before payment, open the flight details and confirm that QR284 and QR273 still show Qsuite.
Open Qatar Airways →We are deliberately showing only the combinations with sensible outbound connections. More dates are available around similar prices, but many include 15+ hour Doha connections on the outbound.
Excellent — the product and price are strong enough for a 9+, but limited clean availability keeps the final score at 8.9. €2,513 direct with Qatar Airways for Qsuite, A350 Business, 2 × 32 kg baggage and a useful Doha stopover is excellent value. The main weakness is that only two combinations around this price meet Dino's routing standards; many other dates involve 15+ hour outbound transits.

Dino hotel guide · Mozambique + Qatar
The Qatar Airways reference itinerary gives you a long Mozambique stay followed by a short stop in Doha. I would treat these two parts of the trip very differently: Maputo is your gateway to Mozambique, while Doha works perfectly as a compact 2-day / 3-night stopover.
Mozambique · Maputo stay strategy
You arrive in Maputo on 13 October and leave for Doha on 23 October. That gives you around 10 nights in Mozambique, which is far more than you need for Maputo alone. For a first visit, I would normally book 2 or 3 nights in the capital, then move on to a beach, island or nature destination before returning for the Qatar Airways flight.
Where to go after Maputo
Planning note: Mozambique is a large country and road journeys can be long. Do not build an itinerary purely from a map — check realistic transfer times, domestic flights and return logistics before committing to accommodation away from Maputo.
Mozambique practical notes
GetYourGuide · Maputo & Mozambique
Use the panel below for current Maputo city tours, local experiences, transfers and day-trip ideas. For the longer Mozambique part of the trip, I would use organised activities selectively and leave enough flexibility for your beach or island extension.
Qatar · Doha stopover strategy
You land in Doha late on 23 October and depart for Amsterdam on the morning of 26 October. That means you should book 3 hotel nights, even though you have roughly 2 full sightseeing days. For such a short stopover, location matters more than chasing the absolute cheapest room.
What to do in Doha
Doha practical notes
GetYourGuide · Doha & Qatar
For a short stopover, GetYourGuide is particularly useful for desert safaris, city tours, transfers and guided museum / Souq combinations. I would book one main organised activity and leave the rest of the stopover flexible.
