This is a very strong 2-in-1 Qatar Airways itinerary from Zurich, combining a proper Oman trip with a separate Doha stay on the way home.
The cleanest version is Zurich → Muscat → Doha → Zurich. The reference dates are 04 Nov - 12 Nov - 15 Nov 2026, giving you 8 hotel nights in Oman + 3 hotel nights in Qatar.
There is also a separate Salalah version: Zurich → Doha → Salalah, then Salalah → Doha → Zurich. You spend the Oman portion entirely in and around Salalah / Dhofar. The trade-off is the late Salalah-Doha flight, which reaches Doha at 00:35 the following day, so those combinations give you 2 actual hotel nights in Qatar, not 3.

The reference price is approximately €400. These results were found through Skyscanner Malta with Kissandfly as the booking provider. The Skyscanner search was set to include checked baggage, but always re-check the exact allowance and fare conditions on the final booking page before paying.
Why it works + booking warnings
The reference itinerary gives you 8 actual hotel nights in Oman + 3 actual hotel nights in Qatar. That is enough time to treat Oman as a real trip rather than a stopover, while three nights in Doha is almost exactly what I would choose for a first visit.
For around €400 on Qatar Airways, the destination mix, timing and trip length are unusually good.
1. Booking source: the lowest fare shown is through Kissandfly rather than directly with Qatar Airways. Read the fare rules carefully and make sure names, baggage and dates are correct before payment.
2. Salalah version: this is a separate Zurich-Doha-Salalah itinerary. You stay in the Salalah / Dhofar region for the Oman portion. The main compromise is timing: Salalah-Doha departs at 23:20 and arrives at 00:35 the following day, leaving only 2 actual hotel nights in Doha.

Check reference Muscat itinerary →This can be excellent if you specifically want Salalah and the Dhofar region. The entire Oman stay is based around Salalah; there is no Muscat-Salalah transfer to arrange. The main downside is the late Salalah-Doha flight, which reduces the Doha stay to two actual hotel nights.
Check Salalah alternative →All were found with the same useful schedule pattern as the reference. The first date is arrival in Oman, the second is the Oman-to-Doha flight, and the third is the Doha-to-Zurich flight.
These are separate Zurich-Doha-Salalah itineraries. You stay in southern Oman, then fly Salalah → Doha. Because that flight arrives after midnight, the Qatar portion has 2 actual hotel nights.
Around €400 for Qatar Airways, a full Oman trip and a separate 3-night Doha stay is exceptional value. The schedule is sensible and the trip lengths are genuinely useful. The main weakness is that the lowest fare is through an OTA rather than Qatar Airways direct.

3 nights Muscat + 2 nights Nizwa / Jebel Akhdar + 2–3 nights back toward Muscat. A very manageable first Oman itinerary.
3 nights Muscat + 2 nights Sur / Wadi Shab + 2–3 nights Nizwa or the mountains.
Add Wahiba Sands for one night if you want a desert experience. A rental car makes the wider itinerary much easier.
If you do not want to drive, stay in Muscat and use organised day trips to Nizwa, Wadi Shab or the mountains.

The Salalah version is a completely separate itinerary from Muscat. You fly into Salalah, stay in southern Oman, then continue to Doha. With 7–8 nights, you have enough time for a proper Dhofar trip rather than simply staying around the city.
