Aircraft and timings can vary by date. The screenshots show full-flat seating throughout, with 2-2 seating on the narrow-body Bucharest–Doha sectors and private 1-2-1 suites on selected Doha–Kathmandu wide-body flights.
Representative total journey time: approximately 12h55. The itinerary is efficient, but the individual flights are relatively short for obtaining a long, uninterrupted night of sleep.
Representative total return journey: approximately 16h30. The longer connection reduces convenience and breaks up the overnight rest.
The seats convert into full-flat beds, but most individual sectors last only around four to five hours. After meal service and preparation for landing, travellers may have limited time for a genuinely long sleep.
The displayed Business Classic example includes hand baggage and 40 kg checked baggage, but does not include free seat selection, free booking changes or a refund. Confirm the conditions because fare families may differ by date or provider.
The screenshots show a 2-2 full-flat layout on selected A320 Bucharest sectors and a 1-2-1 private-suite layout on selected wide-body Kathmandu sectors. Qatar Airways may substitute aircraft, so check every segment before booking.

Qatar Airways Business Class to Kathmandu for approximately €1,898–€1,908 return is excellent value, particularly with 40 kg checked baggage, lie-flat seating and seventeen prepared date options. The strongest wide-body sectors offer private 1-2-1 suites, while the Bucharest sectors still show full-flat seats. The main limitation is that each flight lasts only around four to five hours, so the bed is more useful for comfort than for a full night of uninterrupted sleep. Long return connections and restrictive Business Classic conditions also reduce the final score. Honest Dino Score: 8.4/10.
Kathmandu deserves more than a quick overnight stop. For a first visit, three or four nights in the Kathmandu Valley provide a useful balance between recovery after the journey, city sightseeing and visits to nearby Patan or Bhaktapur.
Nepal becomes far more rewarding when Kathmandu is combined with another region. Pokhara is the easiest next stop for mountain scenery and access to the Annapurna region, while Chitwan offers wildlife and a completely different lowland landscape. Travellers interested in Buddhist heritage can also add Lumbini.
Spend the first three nights in Kathmandu, using one day for the historic centre and another for Patan, Bhaktapur or Boudha. Then continue to Pokhara or Chitwan before returning to Kathmandu for the final night.
Returning to the capital before the international flight provides a safer buffer against domestic transport delays and makes the departure day less stressful.
Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur each offer a different historic atmosphere. Three or four nights provide a much better introduction than a single rushed day.
Even without trekking, the journey and Kathmandu’s elevation can be tiring. Avoid arranging an intensive excursion immediately after landing.
Domestic flights and road journeys can be affected by weather or traffic. A final night in Kathmandu reduces the risk of missing the Qatar Airways departure.
Trekking routes, permits, weather and guide requirements depend on the chosen region and season. Confirm current conditions before building a trek into the itinerary.
Hotel prices, transport times, trekking conditions and destination access can change according to dates, weather and availability. The suggested stay lengths are general planning guidance. Confirm the final hotel total, taxes, room type, breakfast, airport transfer, cancellation conditions, internal travel arrangements and current trekking or entry requirements before booking.
