Manila
Business Class from €1,586 return
About this deal
A very strong Rome to Manila Business Class fare from around €1,586–€1,610 return
with Gulf Air, connecting once in Bahrain.
The reference itinerary is 7–25 October 2026. The long-haul Bahrain–Manila sector is on
Gulf Air's Boeing 787 Falcon Gold cabin. Although Skyscanner describes it as 2-2-2,
the product is shown as full-flat with direct aisle access for every passenger.
The Rome–Bahrain sector is on an A321neo with 2-2 full-flat seating.
The biggest strengths are the sub-€1,600 price, the proper long-haul 787 product and the efficient
1h25 outbound connection. The compromises are the A321neo 2-2 layout and the
4h15 Bahrain connection on the way home.
Cheapest seller: Lastminute via Skyscanner Malta
Airline direct: Gulf Air around €1,786
Routing: 1 stop in Bahrain each way

Fare proof
Skyscanner Malta showed the reference itinerary from €1,586, with the live fare generally moving between €1,586 and €1,610 when checked. Lastminute blocks a useful final-price screenshot, so I personally followed the booking flow and verified the price before publishing.
Check reference fare on Skyscanner Malta →Direct option: select Gulf Air from the Skyscanner seller list. The direct fare was around €1,786 when checked. The Gulf Air Smart fare shown in the airline booking flow included 40 kg checked baggage, 9 kg carry-on, pre-reserved seating and lounge access.
Cabin reality check
The long-haul Boeing 787 product is shown as full-flat with direct aisle access for every passenger. That makes the cabin significantly better than a conventional old-style 2-2-2 configuration.
A321neo compromise: the shorter Rome–Bahrain sectors are still full-flat, but the 2-2 layout means window passengers do not have independent aisle access.
Return connection: the 4h15 Bahrain layover is longer than ideal. The outbound is much cleaner at 1h25. This is one of the main reasons the overall score stays below 9.
Booking options
Best if the lowest price is the priority. Use Skyscanner Malta for an English booking flow and payment in euros, then select Lastminute from the seller list.
Check Lastminute via Skyscanner Malta →This costs roughly €175–€200 more, but on a long-haul Business Class ticket direct airline support can be worth paying for if you need seat help, schedule changes or disruption support. The Gulf Air Smart fare shown in the direct booking flow included 40 kg checked baggage, 9 kg carry-on, pre-reserved seating and lounge access.
Open sellers and choose Gulf Air →The OTA saving is large enough that I would not dismiss it automatically. If price matters most, Lastminute makes sense. If you prefer the cleanest support chain on a premium long-haul ticket, select Gulf Air directly.
Compare both booking options →Availability is concentrated from October into December. Confirm the aircraft shown on the long-haul sector before paying.
Excellent — a very strong price with a genuinely good long-haul 787 product. The Falcon Gold 787 cabin, efficient outbound connection and sub-€1,600 pricing are the stars. The A321neo 2-2 sectors and 4h15 return connection stop it reaching the 9s.

Dino hotel guide · Manila
Manila is a city where location matters a lot. For most first-time visitors I would plan around 2–3 nights in Manila itself, then move on to another part of the Philippines. The city is interesting, but for most travellers the real strength of the trip is using Manila as the gateway to the islands.
Exactly how to use Booking.com + Karma
Manila has a huge hotel supply, so the cheapest-looking room is not always the best value. I would first decide which area you want to stay in, then use Booking.com to find the room that actually suits you. Keep Karma active in the browser while doing this so it can compare the same stay elsewhere.
Keep the browser extension active while browsing hotels.
Choose the exact dates, guests, area, hotel and room you want.
If the same stay is cheaper elsewhere, Karma will surface the alternative.
Check room type, breakfast, cancellation, taxes and payment conditions.
If the lower rate is genuinely equivalent, use the portal Karma opens rather than searching it separately.
How long should you stay in Manila?
For most travellers, Manila works best as a short stop at the beginning or end of a Philippines trip.
Two nights is enough for a first look at the main historic and modern areas,
while three nights gives you room for a slower day without feeling rushed.
If your main goal is beaches and islands, I would not spend a full week in Manila unless you specifically enjoy large cities.
Best areas to stay in Manila
What to check before booking a Manila hotel
Dino rule: do not choose a Manila hotel purely because it is €20 cheaper. Traffic can be brutal, so paying a little more for the right area can save hours over a short stay.
Where to go next after Manila
Dino trip idea: for a two-week holiday, something like 2–3 nights Manila + 5 nights Palawan + 4–5 nights Cebu / Bohol gives a much better balance than spending the whole trip in the capital.
Manila safety: practical precautions
Dino rule: Manila is manageable with normal urban awareness. The biggest practical mistake is often underestimating traffic and building tight flight or ferry connections.
Things to do in Manila
GetYourGuide Manila
GetYourGuide is useful for comparing Intramuros tours, food tours, Manila city tours, day trips outside the city and airport transfers. On a short stay, I would use tours selectively and keep at least one half-day free to explore at your own pace.
