Direct flights from Edinburgh to the FAROE ISLANDS for £203 with Atlantic Airways!

Baggage
23 kg check-in baggage included
Travel period
April – May – June 2027

Direct Edinburgh to the Faroe Islands for £203 on Atlantic Airways with 23 kg check-in baggage included — a proper nonstop hop from Scotland into one of Europe's most dramatic archipelagos, flown by the Faroes' own flag carrier with a full suitcase already in the fare. No Copenhagen detour, no overnight layover: you leave Edinburgh and land among sea cliffs and turf-roof villages in little over an hour. The Faroe Islands are raw North Atlantic beauty — grass-green peaks plunging into fjords, waterfalls that tumble straight into the ocean, puffins on sheer cliffs, and Tórshavn, one of the world's smallest and cosiest capitals, with harbour cafés, knitwear shops, and grass-roofed houses that look lifted from a Nordic fairytale.

This is the kind of trip that rewards hikers and photographers: the hike to Múlafossur on Vágar, boat trips to the Drangarnir sea stacks, sea-spray drives to Gásadalur, and island-hopping by ferry when the weather plays fair. Dino found sale dates in April, May and June 2027 — spring and early summer when the islands turn impossibly green, daylight stretches late into the evening, puffins return to the cliffs, and you dodge the peak of winter storm season without missing the wild Atlantic mood that makes the Faroes special.

Confirm the flight is nonstop both ways, which Faroes airport you use (typically Vágar), Atlantic Airways fare rules, and Denmark/Faroe Islands entry requirements for your passport before you pay. At £203 with 23 kg checked baggage included on a direct route that feels genuinely remote, this is standout value for a long weekend or a full week of island exploring from Scotland.

Edinburgh to the Faroe Islands from £203 return

A rare direct flight deal from Edinburgh to the Faroe Islands with Atlantic Airways. This fare is especially attractive because the itinerary is direct both ways and checked baggage appears to be included.

How to book this deal

1

Choose your dates

Late April, May and early June are stronger periods for the Faroe Islands than the colder winter months.

2

Check baggage

The selected fare appears with checked baggage included. Always confirm the baggage allowance before payment.

3

Plan the island properly

The flight is short, but the Faroes are weather-sensitive. A 6–7 night stay gives much better flexibility.

Check availability
Dino note: this is not a typical cheap city break. The Faroe Islands are dramatic, remote and weather-dependent, so the best value comes from staying long enough to adjust plans if fog, rain or wind affects one of your sightseeing days. A direct flight from Edinburgh makes this route much easier than travelling via Iceland or Denmark.

Prices and availability can change quickly. The lowest OTA fare was found from around £203 return. Confirm the final price, baggage allowance, operating airline, cancellation policy, airport times and entry requirements before booking.

Dino Score 8.6 out of 10

A clean and highly practical direct route to one of Europe’s most dramatic island destinations, with checked baggage included at a strong price.

Dino Verdict

A rare direct Faroe Islands deal from Edinburgh

Return flights from Edinburgh to the Faroe Islands are available from around £203 through selected OTAs.

The itinerary is especially attractive because it is direct both ways, with flight times of only around 1 hour 25 minutes each way.

The fare also appears with checked baggage included, which is a major plus for a destination where travellers are likely to pack outdoor clothing, layers and waterproof gear.

The Faroe Islands are not a cheap destination once you arrive, but this flight price makes the trip much easier to justify, especially for a 6–7 night itinerary.

Price 8.8/10

Around £203 return is strong value for a direct Faroe Islands fare, especially with checked baggage showing as included.

Routing 9.7/10

Direct both ways from Edinburgh to Vágar is excellent. No long layover, no detour and no complicated self-transfer.

Baggage 9.0/10

Checked baggage is a valuable inclusion for the Faroes, where weatherproof clothing and hiking gear are often needed.

Destination appeal 9.2/10

The Faroe Islands are spectacular: cliffs, waterfalls, dramatic roads, moody landscapes and some of the best scenery in Europe.

Seasonality 8.6/10

April, May and early June are strong periods for scenery, daylight and hiking compared with the colder winter months.

Trip practicality 8.5/10

A 6–7 night trip gives enough time for sightseeing, road trips and weather changes, which is important in the Faroes.

Cost on arrival 7.2/10

The flight is affordable, but accommodation, car rental and food in the Faroe Islands can be expensive.

Overall value 8.6/10

A very publishable niche deal: direct flights, strong price, checked baggage and a memorable destination.

Why this deal is worth posting

The direct flight is the key value here. The Faroe Islands often require awkward routings through Denmark or Iceland, so a short direct flight from Edinburgh makes the trip much easier.

Add the checked baggage inclusion and this becomes a practical fare for a real outdoor island trip, not just a cheap headline price.

What to know before booking

The Faroe Islands are beautiful but not cheap. Travellers should budget carefully for hotels, car rental, fuel, food and tours.

Weather can change quickly, so avoid making the trip too short. A 6–7 night stay is much better than a rushed weekend.

Best for: travellers who love dramatic landscapes, photography, road trips, hiking and unusual island destinations.

Less ideal for: travellers looking for warm weather, nightlife, beaches or a very cheap trip once on the ground.

Dino’s advice: publish it as a niche adventure deal, not a standard cheap holiday. The flight is excellent value, but the destination needs realistic budgeting.

Where to stay in the Faroe Islands: beautiful, but not cheap

Despite their small size, the Faroe Islands are actually quite well equipped when it comes to accommodation. You can find guesthouses, apartments, boutique stays and hotels, especially around Tórshavn, the capital and most convenient base for many travellers.

That said, this is still a Nordic destination, so accommodation prices are on the higher end. For a well-rated guesthouse or 3-star hotel in Tórshavn, expect prices to start from around £160 per night.

When travelling as a couple, that works out at approximately £80 per person per night. It is not a budget destination once you arrive, but staying in or near Tórshavn can make the trip much easier, especially if you want restaurants, supermarkets, fuel stations and day-trip access without being too isolated.

Personally, I would not choose accommodation in the Faroes only by price. Location matters a lot. The weather can change quickly, and driving distances may look short on the map but feel longer when visibility, wind or rain are not on your side.

For a first trip, Tórshavn is probably the safest and most practical base. If you plan to rent a car and explore more deeply, you can also compare stays in other areas, but make sure you check road access, parking, nearby food options and cancellation flexibility before booking.

Dino tip: the flight price is excellent, but the Faroe Islands should be planned as a proper nature trip, not a cheap weekend away. Budget carefully for accommodation, car rental, fuel, food and possible tours.
