A very strong nonstop fare from Madrid to Halifax, Nova Scotia,
with useful September dates and excellent flight timings.
The cheapest prices we found were approximately €278-€286 return
through Farera / Mytrip, while the same route was approximately
€302 directly with WestJet.
The reference itinerary runs from 10 September to 21 September 2026,
giving you 11 nights in Atlantic Canada.

and early-afternoon arrival in Halifax.

The late departure lets you keep almost the entire final day in Nova Scotia,
followed by a useful morning arrival back in Madrid.
The reference booking shows the 10 Sep-21 Sep 2026 itinerary
at €278 total, with nonstop flights in both directions.
The booking screen also shows the UltraBasic restrictions and optional baggage pricing,
so always verify the final fare conditions before payment.

For around €300 return, getting nonstop transatlantic flights in both
directions is excellent.
The 10:55 outbound and 22:30 return are also unusually convenient,
with no overnight connections, self-transfers or awkward middle-of-the-night departures.
Halifax also works well as the starting point for a wider Nova Scotia road trip rather than
simply a city break.
The fare is UltraBasic. The booking proof shows the ticket as
non-refundable with date changes not permitted.
WestJet's current published rules provide an exception for UltraBasic flights to and from Europe,
allowing one regular carry-on bag plus one personal item. The third-party booking
screen can display baggage add-ons differently, so verify the allowance shown on your final ticket before paying.
A 23 kg checked bag costs roughly €141 return when added directly with WestJet,
taking the direct-airline total to approximately €443. That can still be worth
considering for an 11-night trip, but it changes the value equation significantly.
These were the lowest prices found for the nonstop WestJet itinerary.
If choosing the OTA price, check the final total, baggage allowance and fare conditions
carefully before completing payment.
The saving compared with booking directly is only around €16-€24.
At only around €16-€24 more than the cheapest OTA,
I would personally choose the direct airline booking.
That keeps the booking directly with the operating carrier if you later need help with the reservation.
If you need a 23 kg checked bag, budget around €443 total based on the quoted
€141 return baggage add-on.

A genuinely strong direct transatlantic fare: excellent price, nonstop routing, very good schedules and useful September availability. UltraBasic restrictions and the expensive checked-bag add-on are the main weaknesses.

The reference 10 September-21 September 2026 flight gives you 11 nights in Nova Scotia. I would not spend the entire trip in Halifax: the city is compact enough for a strong first visit in around 3 nights, leaving plenty of time for the South Shore, Bay of Fundy / Annapolis Valley and Cape Breton.
Halifax itself is very easy to enjoy on foot when you stay centrally, with the waterfront, Citadel Hill, restaurants, museums and the ferry to Dartmouth all fitting naturally into a short city stay. For this itinerary, I would use Halifax as the starting point and return for the final night before the flight home.
Halifax is worth a proper stop, but the real advantage of this fare is the amount of time available to explore
Nova Scotia beyond the city.
For a first visit, I would spend around 3 nights in Halifax at the beginning, then rent a car and
continue along the coast. The South Shore gives you Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg; the Annapolis Valley
and Bay of Fundy add a completely different landscape; and Cape Breton is the natural big finale if you enjoy road trips.
I would then keep the final night back in Halifax or near the airport. The return flight leaves at 22:30,
but finishing the road trip the day before removes unnecessary stress and gives you a relaxed final day.
Halifax's main visitor areas are concentrated enough that you do not need a week in the city. Stay centrally, explore on foot and save the majority of the trip for Nova Scotia's coast and countryside.
My preferred balance for the reference fare: enough time to experience Halifax properly while keeping eight nights available for the wider province.
Possible if your priority is the road trip. You can still cover the waterfront, Citadel Hill and central Halifax, but the pace will be noticeably faster.
After Cape Breton or another longer drive, returning to Halifax the day before departure keeps the final travel day much more comfortable.
Three nights gives you enough time for Halifax's main sights without rushing and still leaves room for a good meal, harbour time and a short trip beyond the city centre.
Walk the harbourfront, stop at the Maritime Museum area and enjoy one of the city's most atmospheric parts at a relaxed pace.
Combine Halifax's military history with excellent views over the city and harbour.
Cross Halifax Harbour for a different skyline view and spend some time around Downtown Dartmouth.
If you do not plan to stop there after leaving Halifax, use part of one day for the famous lighthouse and Atlantic coastline.
With 11 nights on the reference dates, this fare works best as a Nova Scotia road trip. I would combine Halifax with the South Shore, the Bay of Fundy / Annapolis Valley and Cape Breton rather than staying in one base.
