It is not about boutique intimacy — it is about having almost everything you need inside the resort for a full week.

Why I like this resort + where to stay
Ocean Blue & Sand makes sense if your priority is straightforward:
beach, pools, food and drinks on site, and very little planning once you arrive.
The resort is large, with multiple restaurants, plenty of facilities and a private-beach setting,
so it suits travellers who want the holiday itself to happen mostly inside the resort.
The reference Junior Suite Pool View is also much more spacious than a basic hotel room,
with the screenshot showing a 52 m² suite, balcony, minibar, coffee machine and pool / garden views.
At £1,186 total for two adults for seven nights all-inclusive,
the maths is compelling for Punta Cana: roughly £593 per person for the week.
How long to stay + what to do beyond the resort
For a pure all-inclusive holiday, 7 nights is ideal.
It gives you enough time to recover from the long flight, enjoy the resort properly and still add one or two excursions
without turning the week into constant travelling.
If you choose one of the 11- or 14-night flight options, I would either slow the trip down completely
or add a short change of scenery rather than booking excursions every day.

Local city experience and Basilica visit if you want a break from the resort strip.

Airport transfer + practical notes
Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) is roughly 25 km by road from the resort.
In light traffic, the drive is around 20–30 minutes, although transfer times can increase during busy periods.
A normal taxi estimate is roughly US$20–30 each way, while pre-booked private transfers can cost more.
For a package-style resort holiday I would normally pre-book the airport transfer rather than negotiate on arrival,
especially after a long overnight journey.
Also remember that the October flight dates sit within the Atlantic hurricane season,
so flexible cancellation terms and decent travel insurance are especially useful.
