A 4-star hotel may be the better option for those who prioritise daily service, reception support, easier luggage storage and a more straightforward arrival after an overnight flight.
Well-rated studios and one-bedroom apartments started from around €30 per night in our searches. These can provide more space than a standard hotel room and may include a kitchen, washing machine, dining area or separate living space.
Travellers looking for a more traditional hotel experience can expect reputable 4-star properties to begin at approximately €80 per night. Reception support, housekeeping, breakfast options and luggage storage can make the arrival and departure days considerably easier.
When two travellers share, a €30 apartment costs approximately €15 per person per night. A €80 4-star hotel works out at around €40 per person, which can still represent attractive value for a comfortable winter city break.
A centrally located apartment can be an excellent choice for the six-night or nine-night itineraries, particularly for travellers who appreciate additional space and the possibility of preparing some meals independently.
