Lima
from €475 return
About this deal
A rare case where the cheap fare also gives you the easiest possible routing: Madrid to Lima nonstop in both directions. The published range I found was roughly €475–€480 return through eDreams via Skyscanner Malta, using an English-language booking flow and payment in euros.
The fare is Turista Ligera with 15kg checked baggage included. That is enough for many travellers, but it is lighter than the 20–23kg allowance people may expect on a long-haul trip. If you need more luggage, compare the upgraded baggage options directly with Plus Ultra before paying.
Plus Ultra was not appearing as a seller inside Skyscanner when checked. Booking directly on the airline website was around €574 return, roughly €95–€100 more than the cheapest OTA price, but keeps the operating airline as your point of contact.
Cheapest route: eDreams via Skyscanner Malta
Airline: Plus Ultra
Routing: Nonstop both ways
Fare: Turista Ligera
Checked baggage: 15kg included
Plus Ultra direct checked: €574
Typical flight schedule
Plus Ultra nonstop
Madrid 11:00 → Lima 16:10
Journey time: about 12h10
This is an unusually clean long-haul schedule: no connection, no airport change and arrival in Lima in the afternoon rather than late at night.
Plus Ultra nonstop
Lima 18:10 → Madrid 13:05+1
Journey time: about 11h55
The evening departure gives you most of the final day in Peru, with arrival into Madrid early afternoon the following day.
Baggage + fare details
At roughly €475–€480 return, getting nonstop flights in both directions is the big advantage. No connection also removes the risk of a missed onward flight and keeps the total travel day close to the actual flying time.
Do not confuse the eDreams Prime price with the public fare. The proof screenshot also displays a lower Prime membership price. This page is based on the normal non-Prime fare of roughly €475.

LIMLimaBooking options
This is the lowest public price found. Skyscanner Malta gives an English-language booking flow and payment in euros. Check that the final page still shows the same baggage and fare conditions before paying.
Check the live OTA fare →Roughly €95–€100 more, but you deal directly with the operating airline. Plus Ultra was not appearing as a seller in Skyscanner when checked, so use the airline website separately.
Search directly on Plus Ultra →For a two-week Peru trip, some travellers will be perfectly fine with 15kg while others will not. If you know you need more, compare the cost of extra baggage / a higher fare directly with Plus Ultra before choosing purely on the €475 headline price.
Compare Plus Ultra fares →This is not a one-date unicorn. I found useful combinations from January through June 2027. The links below open the prepared searches; prices can move, so always recheck the live fare before paying.
Excellent nonstop value with genuinely broad availability. Around €475–€480 return for Madrid–Lima nonstop is extremely competitive. The biggest compromises are the lighter 15kg checked-bag allowance and a more basic airline product than some larger long-haul carriers.

Lima hotel playbook
Lima is spread out and traffic can be slow, so for me the first decision is the area. For a first leisure trip I would normally start with Miraflores, Barranco or San Isidro, depending on whether you want the easiest tourist base, nightlife and character, or something quieter and more polished. With the longer flight dates on this deal, I would usually spend 3–4 nights in Lima and use the remaining days to explore more of Peru.
In Lima, a cheaper room on the wrong side of the city can cost you time every day once traffic is added. Compare the location and final total, then keep Karma switched on while you search.
💰 Dino hotel booking method
Pick the neighbourhood around the things you actually want to do. In Lima, avoiding one unnecessary cross-city journey every day is worth paying attention to.
Leave Karma active while browsing Booking.com so it can compare prices in the background.
If Karma finds nothing useful, do one final like-for-like comparison before paying.
⏳ How many nights in Lima?
Fine for the historic centre, Miraflores and a good meal or two, but it will feel rushed if you want museums and Barranco as well.
Enough for the historic centre, Miraflores, Barranco and time to enjoy Lima's food scene without racing around.
My preferred balance for a first visit: enough time for the coast, historic centre, museums, Barranco and at least one proper food-focused day.
Great if Lima itself is the focus, but on a longer Peru trip I would usually start moving on to Cusco, Paracas or another region.
📍 Best areas to stay in Lima
My first search for most first-time visitors: easy for the coast, restaurants, parks, tours and plenty of hotel choice.
Best if you want more character, cafés, bars, galleries and a lively evening atmosphere. Easy to combine with Miraflores.
Quieter, greener and more polished, with excellent restaurants and a more business-oriented feel. Good if nightlife is not your priority.
Best for being close to Plaza Mayor, churches and colonial sights. I would choose it for sightseeing convenience, not for the broadest evening options.
🚀 Where to go next — perfect for the longer dates
Cusco & Sacred Valley
The obvious next step for Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley and high-altitude Andean scenery. Fly from Lima and allow time to acclimatise.
Paracas
Excellent for the coast, wildlife and the Ballestas Islands. Works especially well when combined with Huacachina.
Huacachina
A desert oasis near Ica, popular for dunes and sandboarding. Easy to combine with Paracas on a short south-coast extension.
Arequipa
Beautiful historic centre, strong food scene and a natural gateway to Colca Canyon. Better as a proper multi-night stop than a rushed add-on.
Trujillo
Good for northern Peru history, archaeological sites and a different coastal atmosphere from Lima.
Amazon extension
If you have a longer trip, consider flying onward toward Iquitos or Puerto Maldonado for a completely different side of Peru.
⚠️ Lima survival kit
A short-looking journey can take much longer at busy times. Group sights by neighbourhood instead of crossing the city repeatedly.
The airport is not beside the main tourist districts. Build traffic into your arrival and departure plans, especially at peak times.
For airport runs and late-night journeys, use reputable taxis or app-based transport rather than accepting random street offers.
Lima can be warm and bright in summer, while other months are often grey and humid. A light layer is useful near the coast in the evening.
Food tours, historic-centre walks, Pachacamac, coastal experiences, cooking classes and day trips — browse first, then book only what genuinely improves your trip.
A few useful extras that can make the journey easier, particularly when travelling with restrictive cabin-bag fares, arriving late or needing mobile data as soon as you land.
A useful packing solution when you are trying to fit more clothing

card or relying on airport Wi-Fi.
