Venice
from €90 return
About this deal
A very strong short-haul Economy fare from Brussels Airport to Venice Marco Polo from around €90–€95 return.
The flights are marketed by ITA Airways and operated by Brussels Airlines. The reference trip is 3–9 December 2026 with excellent daytime timings: Brussels 09:35 → Venice 11:15 and Venice 12:05 → Brussels 13:45.
The fare includes one personal item plus a regular cabin bag up to 8 kg, maximum 55 × 40 × 23 cm. Checked baggage is not included in the €90 reference fare.
I found 12 useful date combinations from November 2026 through June 2027. The reference dates have the best schedule; several other cheap combinations have either a late-evening arrival in Venice or an early 06:00–07:00 departure on the way home.
The fare is sold on Booking.com via Skyscanner, with the Booking.com flow showing that the flights are powered by Gotogate.

The Ryanair headline fare can look cheaper, but a regular cabin trolley can add roughly €60, and Ryanair serves this market using Charleroi (CRL) and Treviso (TSF). At €90–€95 return with a proper 8 kg cabin bag included and main airports at both ends, this option is worth considering even when Ryanair's base fare looks lower.
The €90 reference fare includes a personal item and an 8 kg cabin bag, but not checked baggage. The Booking.com screen showed checked baggage available separately and an Economy Comfort upgrade for an additional fee. Always recheck the final fare conditions before payment.

Use the prepared Skyscanner link for your chosen dates. The reference proof showed €90 for 3–9 December 2026, including a personal item and an 8 kg cabin bag. The Booking.com flight flow states that the flights are powered by Gotogate.
CHECK 03 DEC – 09 DEC →Ryanair can advertise a lower base fare on this market, but a regular cabin trolley can add roughly €60. It also uses Charleroi (CRL) and Treviso (TSF) rather than BRU and VCE. Compare the final all-in cost and airport convenience rather than only the headline fare.
I prepared 12 useful combinations from November 2026 through June 2027. The 3–9 December reference is the standout schedule; several other low-price dates have either a late arrival or an early-morning departure.
The low fare appears across several months, but schedule quality is not equal. Prioritize the reference-style daytime flights when possible and check arrival/departure times before booking another date.
A very strong short-haul city-break fare with main airports, nonstop flights and an 8 kg cabin bag included. The reference itinerary is excellent; the main weaknesses are the third-party booking flow, no checked bag and less attractive timings on several alternative dates.

Venice hotel playbook
The reference Brussels Airlines-operated itinerary arrives at Venice Marco Polo at 11:15 on 3 December 2026 and leaves at 12:05 on 9 December. That gives you 6 hotel nights. For a first visit I would normally prioritise Cannaregio, San Polo, Dorsoduro or Santa Croce over simply booking the cheapest room on the map. Venice is compact, but bridges, luggage and vaporetto access can make two similarly priced hotels feel very different in practice.
December can produce good hotel value compared with peak season, but the best-located properties can still move quickly. I would secure a well-rated free-cancellation option, then re-check the same dates periodically. Only cancel the original booking after the replacement is fully confirmed.

💰 Dino hotel booking method
Shortlist 3–5 well-rated hotels in the area you actually want and prioritise free cancellation. In Venice, location can be worth more than saving a few euros per night.
Re-check the same dates periodically. If the same hotel drops or a better property appears, compare the conditions first. Only cancel the original after the replacement is confirmed.
Use Karma and Trivago as extra checks. Compare tourist tax, breakfast, cancellation terms, room size and transport convenience — not only the nightly rate.
🌙 How many hotel nights?
Check in: 3 December 2026.
Check out: 9 December 2026.
The flight lands at 11:15. A normal 3 December check-in is correct; no extra previous night is needed.
Six nights gives you enough time for Venice itself plus the lagoon islands and at least one easy day trip without rushing.
The return leaves at 12:05. Stay somewhere with a realistic route to Marco Polo and allow extra time for boats, bridges and luggage.
📍 Best areas to stay
CannaregioMy favourite all-round choice for many first-time visitors: lively but less intense than San Marco, good food, easy access to Santa Lucia station and useful vaporetto connections.
San Polo / Santa CroceVery practical if you want central access without paying San Marco prices. Good for Rialto, station access and keeping luggage logistics manageable.
DorsoduroExcellent for a quieter, more local-feeling stay with galleries, canals and good evening atmosphere. A strong choice if you prefer character over being beside the busiest sights.
MestreUsually cheaper, but it is not Venice island. It can make sense on a tight budget, especially near the station, but factor in daily train/bus time and the loss of late-evening Venice atmosphere.
🌎 How I would use the 6-night stay
Give the city at least three full days. The best parts are not only San Marco and Rialto — wander Cannaregio, Castello, Dorsoduro and smaller canals when the day-trippers thin out.
Use one day for Murano, Burano and, if timing works, Torcello. December can be atmospheric and much calmer than summer.
Padua is the easiest add-on by train. Verona is possible too if you want a longer day out, but I would not sacrifice too much Venice time on a six-night trip.
Leave one day flexible for weather, acqua alta, cafés, churches, markets or simply revisiting the neighbourhoods you liked most.
🗺️ Where to go next
With six nights, I would usually keep one Venice base and use easy day trips rather than changing hotels. These are the most natural add-ons.
Murano + BuranoThe classic lagoon day. Murano for glass, Burano for colour and a completely different atmosphere from central Venice.
PaduaA very easy rail day trip with arcades, squares, markets and major historic sights. Good value if you want a break from Venice prices.
VeronaA longer but straightforward train trip if you want to add another major northern Italian city without moving hotels.
⚠️ Dangers + what to look out for
Venice is generally straightforward for visitors, but the combination of bridges, crowds, winter weather and local charges can make a badly chosen hotel much less convenient than it first appears.
A short distance can mean multiple bridges and stairs. Check the walking route from the nearest vaporetto stop or station before booking.
High-water events are possible in the cooler months. Check recent local conditions and whether the property has practical access if flooding affects low-lying streets.
Check whether Venice tourist tax is included in the displayed total or payable separately at the property.
Use normal precautions around Santa Lucia station, Rialto, San Marco, crowded vaporetti and busy bridges. Keep phones and wallets secure.
December can feel colder than the temperature suggests because of humidity and wind. Check heating reviews and pack for wet conditions.
Compare bus, vaporetto/Alilaguna and water-taxi options before arrival. A cheap hotel can lose its advantage if the transfer is awkward or expensive.
Venice rooms can be compact. Check actual square metres, lift availability and luggage space rather than judging only from wide-angle photos.
Watch for repeated complaints about damp, poor heating, noise, difficult access, surprise charges, weak Wi-Fi or misleading room photos.
🛡️ Practical booking notes
If the refundable rate is only slightly more expensive, the flexibility is valuable. Lock in a sensible room and keep comparing.
December prices can move in both directions. Keep your original booking as a safety net until a better replacement is confirmed.
Breakfast, tourist tax, room type, cancellation and location can change the real value far more than a €5 nightly headline difference.
The flight leaves at 12:05. Avoid a remote final-night hotel and allow time for bridges, boats, buses and any winter-weather disruption.
Keep this simple: one well-chosen tour or activity can add value, but Venice is also a city that rewards unstructured wandering.
