A very competitive transatlantic fare from
Hamburg to New York JFK with Aer Lingus.
Flights operate with
one stop in Dublin in both directions, with two useful
outbound options available.
The cheapest itinerary we found was approximately
€349 return through Gotogate via Skyscanner Ireland.
Aer Lingus itself was also listed as a booking option for approximately
€358 return.

That option leaves Dublin at 19:45 and arrives at JFK at
22:25, with a total journey time of

It was approximately €10 cheaper.

A useful evening departure from New York that allows most of the
final day to be spent in the city.
Cheapest option:
Gotogate via Skyscanner Ireland from approximately
€349 return.
Aer Lingus direct:
approximately €358 return for the cheaper
outbound itinerary.
The faster outbound was approximately
€359 through Gotogate or
€368 directly with Aer Lingus.
With such a small difference, our preference would be to book
directly with Aer Lingus.

The lowest fare is attractive, but the most interesting part of this
deal is that the operating airline itself is also available for only a
very small premium.
Instead of paying around €349 through Gotogate,
the same cheaper itinerary was available from approximately
€358 directly with Aer Lingus.
For around €9 extra, I would personally book
directly with the airline.
The fare shown includes a
cabin bag but no checked baggage.
If you need checked luggage, compare the final total after adding it
before deciding whether this remains the cheapest option.
There are also two outbound schedules.
The faster itinerary reaches New York at
19:20 after a 1h55 Dublin connection.
The cheaper option has a much longer Dublin wait and does not reach
JFK until 22:25.
For only around €10 difference, the earlier arrival would be my
preferred schedule.
This was the lowest price shown for the reference itinerary.
Gotogate was approximately
€9 cheaper than booking directly with Aer Lingus.
If selecting the OTA option, verify the final payment-page price,
baggage allowance and booking conditions before completing payment.
The same cheaper itinerary was available directly from Aer Lingus
for only around €9 more.
The faster outbound option was also available directly with Aer
Lingus for approximately €368.
With such a small difference, I would personally pay the premium and
book directly with the operating airline.
This is not an isolated fare. We found 14 useful date combinations from September through late October 2026.
A strong New York fare with competitive pricing, sensible Aer Lingus routing, a very affordable direct-airline booking option and excellent date availability. The main weakness is the cabin-bag-only fare.

New York is one of the most expensive hotel markets in the world. For a well-rated 3- or 4-star hotel in a genuinely convenient Manhattan location, a realistic starting point is roughly €300 per room per night, and prices can climb much higher during busy weekends, events and peak travel periods.
Our featured option is The Renwick in Murray Hill / Midtown East. It combines a very central location with strong guest feedback and is especially practical for travellers who want to be close to Grand Central, Bryant Park, the Empire State Building and several subway connections without staying directly in Times Square.
The Renwick is a strong compromise between location, comfort and price in a city where hotel rates can become painful very quickly. It sits at 118 East 40th Street in Murray Hill, only around 270 metres from Grand Central Terminal, making it particularly convenient for subway connections and getting around Manhattan.
The displayed search shows a 8.4/10 guest rating and an excellent 9.6/10 location score. Bryant Park is around 400 metres away and the Empire State Building around 900 metres away, while Midtown's restaurants, shops and major sights are within easy reach.
The hotel offers free Wi-Fi, a fitness centre, restaurant, 24-hour front desk, terrace, family rooms and parking. The rooms have a residential-style feel, which makes this a more appealing base for a six-night stay than a very small budget Manhattan room.
For the sample 9-15 September 2026 stay, the lowest displayed Gallery King room was €1,836 for six nights, or roughly €306 per room per night. That rate was non-refundable and payable in advance. Flexible cancellation options were available, but at a substantially higher total price.
Midtown East / Murray Hill
Location score: 9.6/10
New York is one of those cities where adding an extra night genuinely improves the trip. Distances are larger than they look on a map, and each neighbourhood deserves some time rather than simply moving from one major attraction to another.
A strong length for a first visit. It gives you several full sightseeing days plus enough time for Brooklyn, neighbourhoods and evenings without constantly rushing.
A realistic range for a well-rated 3- or 4-star Manhattan hotel in a convenient location. Flexible cancellation, breakfast and peak dates can push the price considerably higher.
In New York, a good transport location is often worth paying for. Saving money far from Manhattan can quickly become less attractive when you add commuting time every morning and evening.
With six nights, I would mix the famous sights with entire neighbourhoods rather than trying to tick off every observation deck and museum in Manhattan.
Grand Central, Bryant Park, Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center and the Empire State Building all fit naturally together.
Combine the Financial District, 9/11 Memorial, Battery Park and a ferry or harbour experience in one day.
Walk Brooklyn Bridge, explore DUMBO and stay for sunset or dinner instead of treating Brooklyn as a photo stop.
Give Central Park proper time and combine it with one major museum rather than trying to fit several into the same day.
For the six-night reference trip, I would probably keep New York as the main focus. If you have more time, however, the Northeast is excellent for building a simple multi-city itinerary.
Dino itinerary idea: for this six-night fare, spend at least five nights in New York and use one day for a nearby excursion.
