A very strong one-stop fare from Malta to New York JFK with Aer Lingus,
booked directly on the airline website.
The reference itinerary is 1-7 October 2026 at
€387.91 return.
Aer Lingus Saver includes a regular cabin bag and transatlantic meal service.
If you need checked baggage, a 23 kg checked bag can be added later for around €90 return.

Malta 12:45 → Dublin 15:25
Aer Lingus EI465
1h20 connection in Dublin
Dublin 16:45 → New York JFK 19:20
Aer Lingus EI107
Dublin offers U.S. preclearance before the transatlantic sector.
The connection is relatively tight, but Aer Lingus also sells a later JFK departure,
so there is an additional same-day option if disruption occurs.
Wednesday, 7 October 2026
New York JFK 16:55 → Dublin 04:30+1
Aer Lingus EI104
2h05 connection in Dublin
Dublin 06:35 → Malta 11:30
Aer Lingus EI464
A practical overnight return with a more comfortable Dublin connection.
Screenshots captured when the deal was checked on 17 August 2026. Prices and availability can change after publication.
The value here is not only the headline price.
Aer Lingus Saver already includes a regular cabin bag and
meal service on the transatlantic sectors, and the whole trip is booked directly with the airline.
Dublin also gives you the advantage of U.S. preclearance,
so you complete U.S. immigration formalities before boarding the flight to New York.
At €387.91 return, this is a very strong Malta-to-New-York package.
The reference outbound gives you only 1h20 in Dublin.
Because U.S. preclearance is completed there, I would normally prefer a slightly longer connection.
However, this is sold as one Aer Lingus itinerary and there is also a
later same-day Dublin → JFK flight shown by Aer Lingus,
which gives the itinerary a little more resilience than a route with only one daily onward option.
Saver does not include checked baggage.
If you need one, budget approximately €90 return for a 23 kg checked bag.
This fare is already available directly with the airline, so that is the option I would choose.
Use the Aer Lingus website and enter one of the available date combinations manually.
If you need extras such as a 23 kg checked bag, seats or other services,
compare and add them during the booking flow rather than paying for a more expensive fare bundle automatically.
We found 11 useful October combinations. The 1-7 October itinerary is the reference trip. All buttons below redirect to the Aer Lingus homepage so you can enter the dates manually.
A very strong New York fare with excellent pricing, direct airline booking, cabin baggage, meal service, U.S. preclearance and solid October availability. The only meaningful compromise is the relatively short outbound Dublin connection.

This is where the Malta → New York deal becomes more difficult: New York accommodation can easily cost more than the flight itself. Well-rated hotels in the most central Manhattan locations can start around €300 per night, especially once taxes and fees are included.
If you are willing to lower expectations on room size, luxury and address, a more residential area with good subway access can sometimes cut that cost dramatically. For the 1-7 October reference trip, I would stay in the same hotel for all 6 nights rather than waste time changing accommodation.
For a first visit I think 5-7 nights is ideal. New York is not a city where you run out of things to do after three days: Manhattan alone can easily fill a week, and Brooklyn / Queens add another layer entirely.
Perfect for a first visit. Stay in one hotel and divide the days by neighbourhood rather than crossing the city repeatedly.
Enough for Manhattan highlights, but you will need to prioritise heavily and will probably see less of Brooklyn and Queens.
Keep 6-7 nights in New York, then consider Boston, Philadelphia or Washington DC rather than paying New York hotel rates for the entire trip.
If convenience matters more than the nightly rate, these are the areas I would look at first. New York's official tourism organisation describes Midtown as the heart of Manhattan, with many of the city's most famous attractions concentrated there.
If Manhattan prices are painful, I would not automatically give up on the trip. Instead, move the hotel search outward while keeping one rule: stay close to a subway station with a straightforward ride into Manhattan.
Compare the final amount including taxes and mandatory fees. A room that looks cheaper at first glance can change significantly at checkout.
I would rather stay in Queens beside a fast subway line than in a cheap Manhattan hotel requiring a long walk to transport every morning.
New York rooms can be surprisingly compact. If you are out sightseeing all day, location may matter more than having a large bedroom.
With hotel prices this high, a flexible rate can be valuable: book something acceptable early, then re-check prices before the cancellation deadline.
Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue, Grand Central, Central Park and one major museum.
Lower Manhattan, 9/11 Memorial area, Staten Island Ferry / waterfront, Brooklyn Bridge, DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights.
Greenwich Village, SoHo, Chinatown, Chelsea / High Line, plus whatever you missed or a Broadway show.
If you book one of the 8- to 13-night combinations, I would not automatically spend every night in New York. The Northeast is easy to combine by train and you can reduce the number of very expensive NYC hotel nights.
Dino 11-night idea: New York 6 nights → Philadelphia 2 nights → Washington DC 3 nights.Dino 13-night idea: New York 6 nights → Boston 3 nights → Philadelphia 1 night → Washington DC 3 nights.
With a flight around €388 return, it is tempting to think of this as a cheap New York trip.
The airfare is cheap; New York itself is not.
Check the total accommodation cost before booking the flight, especially for families or solo travellers.
If central Manhattan pushes the trip outside your budget, look at
Long Island City, Downtown Brooklyn or uptown Manhattan close to the subway
before abandoning the deal entirely.
I would also avoid saving money by choosing a hotel so far out that you lose one or two hours every day commuting.
