New York

Prague
from $400 return
About this deal
Condor is showing a very strong set of New York JFK → Prague return fares
from late 2026 into early 2027, with one stop in Frankfurt each way.
The headline fare starts at around $400 return on the
8–19 November 2026 reference itinerary, but that is the stripped-down
Economy Zero fare with only a small personal-item style cabin bag.
For an 11-night transatlantic trip, Dino strongly recommends paying more for
Economy Classic. On the reference dates it was around
$510 return and includes a regular 8 kg cabin bag + 23 kg checked baggage,
plus the standard meal, soft drinks and seatback entertainment shown by Condor.
The other major positive is booking method: on the reference itinerary
Condor itself was available directly through the Skyscanner vendor list,
only a couple of dollars above the very cheapest OTA listing.
Dino recommendation: Economy Classic from ~$510
Classic includes: 8 kg cabin bag + 23 kg checked bag
Routing: JFK → FRA → PRG
Stops: 1 each way

New York JFK 16:25 → Frankfurt 05:55+1
4-hour connection
Frankfurt 09:55 → Prague 10:55
Total journey time: 12h30.
The connection is longer than ideal, but the overall schedule is still very usable
and you reach Prague before lunch.

Prague 08:00 → Frankfurt 09:05
2h10 connection
Frankfurt 11:15 → New York JFK 14:05

Fare proof
Economy Zero is useful for the $400 headline, but it only includes a small personal-item style cabin bag. For an 11-night transatlantic trip, this is not the fare Dino would normally recommend.

Economy Classic includes a regular 8 kg hand baggage allowance + 23 kg checked baggage, as well as the standard meal, soft drinks and seatback entertainment shown by Condor. On the reference dates it was around $510 return.

Why this fare works + important details
The cheapest price gets attention, but the stronger deal is the fare you can actually
use comfortably for a longer transatlantic trip.
On the reference dates, paying roughly $110 more takes you from a very limited
Economy Zero allowance to 8 kg cabin baggage + 23 kg checked baggage in Economy Classic.
Add the one-stop routing, decent journey times, direct Condor booking availability and
relatively affordable ground costs in Prague, and this becomes a very complete-value fare rather than
just a cheap headline.
1. Economy Zero: the headline fare only includes a small personal-item style bag.
If you need a normal cabin suitcase or checked luggage, price the upgrade before paying.
2. Economy Classic: this is Dino's recommendation for most travellers because it includes
8 kg hand baggage + 23 kg checked baggage.
3. Frankfurt connection: the outbound connection is 4 hours.
It is not a bad itinerary, but it is longer than the ideal 1–2 hour connection.
4. January and February: most of the availability is in low season.
The pricing is still strong, but this is not the same achievement as finding the same fare over Christmas or summer.
5. Always re-check fare family: Skyscanner can surface the itinerary, but the final fare family and
baggage rules shown on the booking page are what matter.
Fare + booking details
Booking options
Useful if you genuinely travel extremely light. The reference itinerary showed Condor direct at around $400 through the Skyscanner vendor list, while the absolute cheapest OTA was only a couple of dollars lower. The baggage restriction is the catch.
Check Economy Zero →For most travellers this is the fare to buy. On the reference itinerary, roughly $110 more adds 8 kg cabin baggage + 23 kg checked baggage, plus the standard meal, soft drinks and seatback entertainment shown by Condor.
Check Economy Classic →On the reference search, Condor itself was only about $2 above the cheapest OTA. That is an easy decision: if the fare family and total are comparable, Dino would book directly with Condor rather than save two dollars through a third party.
Open Skyscanner vendor list →The first price shown on each card is the stripped-down Economy Zero fare. The second is the approximate Economy Classic price with 8 kg cabin baggage + 23 kg checked baggage. Prices are dynamic, so use these as the levels found when checked rather than guaranteed future totals.
Excellent overall value when judged on Economy Classic rather than the stripped-down headline fare. Around $510 return on the reference dates with 8 kg cabin baggage, 23 kg checked baggage, one stop each way and direct Condor booking availability is a very complete deal. The main deductions are that only one date combination reaches the standout ~$510 Classic level, and the outbound itinerary lands in Frankfurt at 05:55 before a 4-hour wait for Prague — exactly when many travellers would rather still be asleep.

The reference Condor itinerary gives you 11 nights from 8 to 19 November 2026. I would not spend all 11 nights in Prague unless you deliberately want a very slow city break. For a first visit, 4–5 nights in Prague is the sweet spot, which leaves enough time for Český Krumlov, a Czech spa town such as Karlovy Vary, or an easy international extension into Germany, Austria, Slovakia or Poland.
Prague is compact, walkable and has excellent public transport, so location matters more than hotel luxury. My preference is to stay somewhere that lets you walk into the historic centre but still escape the busiest tourist streets at night.
How I would search for the hotel
Search the exact 8–19 November reference dates first, then decide whether to keep one Prague hotel for the entire trip or split the stay. If you are adding Český Krumlov, Karlovy Vary or another country, I would avoid paying for an empty Prague room while you are away.
Filter by recent reviews and location. In Prague, being close to a tram or metro is more important than being directly on Old Town Square.
If Booking.com is your normal starting point, Karma can flag the same hotel cheaper through another portal.
Prague has a huge hotel market, so a final metasearch is worth doing before payment.
Same room, breakfast, cancellation terms, taxes and payment conditions. Do not compare only the headline nightly rate.
How many nights should you spend in Prague?
Prague can be rushed in three nights, but I would choose 4–5 nights for a first visit. That gives you the major sights without spending the entire trip moving between Charles Bridge, the Castle and Old Town Square. It also gives you time for neighbourhoods such as Vinohrady, Žižkov or Holešovice.
Enough for the headline sights, but expect a fairly concentrated itinerary.
Old Town, Castle, Malá Strana, Josefov, neighbourhood exploration and one slower evening without rushing.
Long enough to turn this into a proper Central European trip rather than paying for 11 straight nights in Prague.
Best areas to stay in Prague
Český Krumlov + Czech spa towns
Český Krumlov is roughly three hours from Prague by coach and is one of the most obvious additions to this itinerary. I would stay 1–2 nights rather than turn it into a long day trip. Once the daytime tour groups leave, the medieval centre is far more enjoyable.
This is not the most geographically efficient routing, but it gives you three very different versions of Czechia and puts you safely back in Prague before the return flight.
Germany, Austria, Slovakia or Poland?
Prague is one of the easiest cities in Europe to combine with another country by rail. With 11 nights, I would choose one additional international destination rather than trying to collect four capitals.
Dino international idea: Prague 4 nights → Český Krumlov 2 nights → Vienna 3 nights → Prague 2 nights. This gives you Czechia plus Austria without turning the holiday into a race between railway stations.Safety, taxis and common tourist traps
Pickpocketing: the main everyday risk is petty theft in crowded tourist areas and on public transport.
Be especially careful around the historic centre, busy trams, metro stations and airport-to-centre transport.
Taxis: do not simply jump into an unmarked car or accept unsolicited rides.
Prague Airport specifically warns that unofficial taxi services can overcharge passengers.
If you need a car, I would use Uber, Bolt or Liftago so the trip and price are shown in the app.
Uber Airport is the official taxi service at Prague Airport and can also be ordered at airport kiosks or counters.
Street taxis: Prague City Tourism notes that hailing a taxi directly on the street is usually more expensive than booking one.
If you do use a metered taxi, check the rate and ask for a receipt.
Nightlife: keep an eye on your drink, check prices before ordering in tourist-heavy clubs
and do not assume every central bar is cheap simply because Prague has a budget-friendly reputation.
Money exchange: avoid informal street exchanges.
Use reputable exchange offices, banks or monitored ATMs, and always check the amount before confirming.
Public transport tickets: make sure the ticket is valid for your journey and validated when required.
Prague's trams have right of way at crossings, so do not step into the tracks assuming they will stop.
