New York
from €305 return
About this deal
A genuinely cheap transatlantic fare from Prague to New York JFK with Condor,
connecting once in Frankfurt each way.
The lowest fare I found is around €305 return through Gotogate via Skyscanner Czechia.
More importantly, Condor itself was only around €320 return on the same reference dates,
so for just €15 more I would personally book directly with the airline.
There are two catches. First, the cheapest Economy Zero fare is very stripped back:
it includes a small personal item and the standard long-haul meal service, but not a regular cabin trolley
or checked baggage. Upgrading the reference trip to Economy Classic costs about €100 more.
Second, New York is brutally expensive on the ground, which is why my reference itinerary is deliberately
short: 5-8 November 2026 · 3 nights.
Airline: Condor
Stops: 1 each way
Cheapest OTA: €305 return
Condor direct: €320 return
Economy Classic: about €100 more
scattered dates in November + April ↓
Reference flight schedule
Condor DE4481 + DE2016 · 1 stop in Frankfurt
Prague 08:00 → Frankfurt 09:05
Connection: 2h10
Frankfurt 11:15 → New York JFK 14:05
Total journey: approximately 12h05.
The outbound is actually quite practical: an early start from Prague, a sensible connection in Frankfurt
and arrival in New York early enough to still use part of the afternoon and evening.
Condor DE2017 + DE4482 · 1 stop in Frankfurt
New York JFK 16:25 → Frankfurt 05:55+1
Connection: 4h00
Frankfurt 09:55 → Prague 10:55
Total journey: approximately 12h30.
The four-hour Frankfurt connection is not ideal, but the afternoon departure from JFK is convenient
and you are back in Prague before lunch the following day.

Fare proof
The reference 5-8 November itinerary was available from around €305 return through Gotogate via Skyscanner Czechia.

Condor's own price for the same reference trip was around €320 return. For only €15 more than the cheapest OTA, this is the option I would choose.

Why this fare works + important catches
The €305 OTA fare gets the headline, but the more interesting number is
€320 directly with Condor.
Paying only about €15 extra to book directly with the operating airline
is an unusually easy decision, especially on a transatlantic itinerary with connecting flights.
If there is a schedule change, cancellation or ticket issue, dealing directly with Condor
is worth far more than a €15 saving.
1. Economy Zero is very basic:
the cheapest fare includes the small personal item and standard long-haul meal service,
but not a normal cabin trolley or checked bag.
2. Economy Classic is expensive:
on the reference dates the upgrade was roughly €100 more.
Classic becomes useful if you need the regular cabin bag and checked baggage, but it changes the economics of the deal.
3. Availability is scattered:
there are several good combinations, but not a long uninterrupted run of €300 fares.
You need some flexibility with the dates.
4. New York ground costs are the biggest weakness:
hotels, food and local spending can quickly cost more than the flight itself.
That is exactly why I chose a 3-night reference stay rather than pretending this is automatically
a cheap week-long holiday.

Booking options
This is the absolute lowest price I found for the reference itinerary. It is useful as a benchmark, but when the airline itself is only €15 more, I would not personally choose the OTA just to save such a small amount.
Check cheapest fare →The airline-direct premium is only about €15 on the reference dates. That is a tiny difference for simpler support if something changes. I would start with Economy Zero if travelling very light, then compare the total cost of Economy Classic only if you genuinely need the extra baggage.
Check Condor direct →The lowest fares are scattered rather than continuously available. The figures below show the OTA price first and the Condor-direct price second where checked. My reference is 5-8 November because the €305 / €320 fare is strongest and a short stay helps control New York's very high hotel costs.
The airfare itself is excellent, and the airline-direct pricing is even better. What stops this scoring higher is the very restrictive Economy Zero baggage, the expensive €100 jump to Economy Classic, scattered availability and — most importantly — the cost of staying in New York once you land.

New York is one of those destinations where a fantastic airfare can give you a completely false idea of how cheap the overall trip will be. For a central, well-connected hotel with reviews I would consider reasonably acceptable, I would currently budget roughly €250-€300 per night on many dates. That is, frankly, a little mental when the reference flight from Prague is only around €305 return.
This is exactly why I chose only 3 nights in New York: 5-8 November 2026 for the reference trip. You can still see the essentials, but you avoid turning an exceptionally cheap flight into a very expensive week once the hotel bill is added.
I normally start with Booking.com because it is quick to filter by location, review score, room type and cancellation conditions. But New York hotel prices are high enough that I would always compare the same property on Trivago before paying.
Enter 5-8 November 2026, the correct number of guests and set a review score you are comfortable with. I would then use the map to see how close each hotel is to a useful subway station.
Do not chase the absolute cheapest room in the entire city. Shortlist hotels with acceptable reviews, sensible transport and a final price you can live with.
Search the same hotel and exact dates on Trivago. It may surface Booking.com, Trip.com or another established portal at a lower price.
Compare the final amount, taxes, room type, bed, breakfast, cancellation policy and payment conditions. A cheaper headline price is useless if the conditions are worse.
With only three nights, transport matters more than having a fashionable address. Whatever area you choose, check the walking distance to the subway before booking.
Three days is short, so I would not try to “complete” New York. Group sights geographically, walk a lot and choose only one or two paid headline attractions.
Start around Grand Central, walk past the Chrysler Building and Fifth Avenue, continue to Rockefeller Center and Times Square, then spend part of the afternoon in Central Park. Finish with one observation deck around sunset if the weather is good.
Explore the 9/11 Memorial area, Wall Street and Battery Park. Take the Staten Island Ferry if you want a simple harbour / Statue of Liberty view, then walk the Brooklyn Bridge and finish around DUMBO or Brooklyn Heights.
Walk the High Line, stop around Chelsea Market, continue through Greenwich Village / SoHo, then use the final afternoon for the museum, shopping area or neighbourhood that matters most to you. A Broadway show is a strong final evening option.
The airfare is exceptionally cheap; New York itself is not.
A reasonably central hotel can easily cost almost as much per night as the entire return flight.
This is why the 3-night reference itinerary makes sense.
You get a proper taste of New York without committing to a week of some of the highest accommodation costs
you are likely to encounter on a city break.
If Manhattan prices are beyond your budget, I would first check
Long Island City, Downtown Brooklyn and residential Manhattan near the subway
rather than booking something extremely far away.
Saving €30 a night is not worth losing two hours every day commuting.
