Two strong North American deals from Riga with SAS, cabin baggage included and practical one-stop connections through Copenhagen.
New York or Miami from Riga at very competitive prices
SAS is offering attractive return flights from Riga to New York from €381 and from Riga to Miami from €386, with cabin baggage included.
Both routes include one connection in Copenhagen. The itineraries avoid overnight airport stops and provide sensible departure and arrival times, making them considerably more attractive than many similarly priced transatlantic fares.
The short European sectors may be operated by CityJet on behalf of SAS, while the transatlantic flights are operated within the SAS network. This is a normal codeshare arrangement rather than a self-transfer.

Return: New York JFK 17:35 → Riga 10:50 the following day

A particularly strong option for autumn city breaks, Christmas shopping and winter visits to New York.
Riga to Miami
From €386Outbound: Riga 11:25 → Miami 18:05
Return: Miami 19:55 → Riga 15:20 the following day
Journey times: 13h40 outbound and 12h25 on the return.
Excellent seasonal value for winter sunshine, Florida road trips or a cruise departing from Miami.
Choose New York for the lowest fare, shorter journey times, broader availability, sightseeing, shopping and a classic city break.
Choose Miami for warm winter weather, beaches, cruises and the possibility of adding the Florida Keys or a wider road trip.
Confirm whether the fare includes a full cabin trolley, a personal item or both, and check the combined weight allowance before booking.
Checked baggage may not be included. Travellers who need a checked suitcase should compare the total price after adding baggage rather than judging the deal only by the headline fare.
Also confirm connection times in Copenhagen, seat-selection charges, fare-change conditions and entry requirements for the United States.
New York score: 8.8/10 — the stronger overall option because of the shorter journeys and wider date selection.
Miami score: 8.7/10 — slightly longer journeys, but excellent winter-sun value.
Best for: travellers from Latvia looking for an affordable North American trip with a reputable airline and no complicated routing.
Less ideal for: travellers who require checked baggage or want a nonstop flight from Riga.

Where to stay in New York: winter dates can offer much better value
New York is normally one of the world’s most expensive hotel markets, but travelling during the quieter winter period can make a significant difference to the overall trip cost.
For our sample search from 4 February to 11 February, well-rated 3 and 4-star hotels were available on sale from around €150 per night.
When travelling as a couple, that works out at only €75 per person per night. While New York is still not a budget destination, this is considerably more affordable than the €250–€400 nightly prices often seen during autumn, Christmas or peak spring dates.
Staying in Manhattan offers maximum convenience, but travellers can often find better value in Long Island City, Downtown Brooklyn, Williamsburg or other neighbourhoods with quick subway access to Midtown.
Dino tip: check the final price carefully. Some New York hotels add destination fees, facility charges or other mandatory costs that may not be obvious in the initial nightly rate. Also compare room size, heating reviews and the walking distance to the nearest subway station.

Where to stay in Miami: winter sunshine comes at a higher price
Miami is especially popular during the European winter, when travellers arrive for warm weather, beaches, cruises and Florida road trips. Strong demand during this period means accommodation is usually more expensive than in New York on the same February dates.
For our sample search from 4 February to 11 February, well-rated 3 and 4-star hotels in Miami Beach started from around €220 per night.
When travelling as a couple, that equals around €110 per person per night. The price is higher, but staying near the beach can reduce the need for daily transport and places you close to restaurants, nightlife and the main coastal attractions.
Travellers who do not need to stay directly on Miami Beach should also compare Downtown Miami, Brickell, Coconut Grove and selected areas near public transport. These locations may offer newer hotels, more space or better value, although beach access will be less convenient.
Dino tip: Miami hotel prices can increase substantially after resort fees, parking charges and taxes are added. If you plan to rent a car, check the daily parking cost before booking, as this alone can add a significant amount to a seven-night stay.
