A very good full-service New York fare from Vilnius. The price, SAS direct-booking option and cabin baggage allowance are strong. It loses points mainly for the longer Stockholm connections and because checked baggage requires the higher fare.

The easiest all-round base if this is your first New York trip. You are close to Times Square, Broadway, Rockefeller Center, Central Park and several subway lines, so you can spend more time sightseeing and less time crossing the city.
Best areas to stay
I would not automatically choose the cheapest room in the city. Location can save a lot of time in New York, so compare the total price against the transport convenience.
Best overall for first-time visitors. Very convenient for major sights, Broadway and subway connections.
Good for the Financial District, One World Trade Center, Brooklyn access and a slightly different Manhattan atmosphere.
Worth checking when Manhattan rates are high. Some hotels can offer much better value while keeping Midtown only a short subway ride away.
A strong compromise if you want restaurants, neighbourhood atmosphere and easy access both uptown and downtown.
