A very strong full-service fare from Brussels to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
with Ethiopian Airlines and just one connection in Addis Ababa.
The lowest fares are around €601-€607 via Bravofly on Skyscanner Austria,
using a German-language booking flow.
Ethiopian Airlines itself is also listed as a vendor in Skyscanner at around
€652 return, which is only about €45-€51 more and would be my preferred booking.
The reference itinerary is 23 August to 6 September 2026.
Because the outbound is overnight and arrives on 24 August, that gives you approximately
13 hotel nights in Tanzania.
Ethiopian Airlines direct: about €652

For around €600 return you are getting a one-stop full-service itinerary
all the way from Brussels to Kilimanjaro with 2 x 23 kg checked baggage included.
The flight timings are also unusually useful: an overnight departure from Brussels,
arrival at Kilimanjaro in the morning, and an evening departure on the way home.
Even better, Ethiopian Airlines itself is only around €652,
so the direct-airline premium is relatively small.
The cheapest Bravofly option is reached through Skyscanner Austria
and uses a German-language booking flow.
Check the final payment total carefully before paying.
Personally, I would spend the extra roughly €45-€51
and choose Ethiopian Airlines directly from the Skyscanner vendor list.
The outbound Addis Ababa connection is only 1h35.
It is sold as one Ethiopian Airlines itinerary rather than a self-transfer,
but it is still tighter than I would ideally choose on a long-haul trip.
This is the lowest price range we found.
The booking flow is in German, so check the final payment price,
baggage and fare conditions carefully before completing the purchase.
For only around €45-€51 more,
I would personally select Ethiopian Airlines itself from the available Skyscanner vendors.
On a long-haul trip with connections, keeping the booking directly with the operating airline
is worth the modest premium for me.
We found six useful date combinations between late August and December 2026. The 23 August - 6 September itinerary is the reference trip.
A particularly strong East Africa fare with excellent pricing, one-stop routing, 2 x 23 kg checked baggage, very usable long-haul timings and six available date combinations. The only notable weaknesses are the tight 1h35 outbound connection and the less ideal late-November / December season options.

The reference flight arrives at Kilimanjaro Airport on 24 August and departs on 6 September 2026, giving you approximately 13 hotel nights in Tanzania.
For most travellers I would use Arusha as the main gateway rather than the main destination: spend 1 night on arrival, then start either a Northern Circuit safari or a Kilimanjaro climb. I would also keep 1 final night near Arusha / Usa River / JRO before the flight home.
For this deal I would plan two Arusha-area nights in total: one immediately after landing and one before the return flight. If you want to visit Arusha National Park, explore the city properly or spend a relaxed day at a lodge, add a third night and reduce another part of the itinerary.
Your reference flight lands at 10:40, so you still have most of the day. Transfer to Arusha, rest, meet your operator and prepare for an early safari or mountain departure the next morning.
Worth adding if you want Arusha National Park, a coffee experience, shopping for climbing gear or simply a slower start after the long-haul flight.
Stay in Arusha, Usa River or closer to JRO before flying home. This is particularly sensible after a safari or Kilimanjaro climb, when delays and long road transfers are possible.
The best base depends on whether you value walkability, a quieter lodge atmosphere or airport convenience. I would not automatically choose the cheapest room: safari and climbing departures often start early, so location and transfer logistics matter.
Arusha is the natural starting point for Tanzania's Northern Safari Circuit. For the August / early-September reference dates, I would prioritise Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti rather than trying to collect too many parks.
Dino safari idea: Arusha 1 night → Tarangire 1 night → Karatu / Ngorongoro 1-2 nights → Serengeti 3-4 nights → return towards Arusha / JRO.Kilimanjaro reaches 5,895 metres and altitude is the main challenge. If you are serious about the summit, I would not choose a route simply because it is one day shorter. Longer routes normally give your body more time to acclimatise.
Mount Meru rises above Arusha National Park and is a serious mountain in its own right.
It is also commonly used as an acclimatisation climb before Kilimanjaro.
If a 7-8 day Kilimanjaro expedition feels too ambitious,
combining Mount Meru + a Northern Circuit safari can make a superb adventure-focused Tanzania trip.
Arusha 1 →
Northern Circuit safari 7 →
Zanzibar 4 →
Usa River / JRO area 1.
This would be my first choice if wildlife is the main reason for booking the fare.
Arusha / Moshi 1 → 7-day Kilimanjaro climb 7 → recovery / Moshi 1 → short safari 3 → JRO area 1.
Arusha 2 → safari 6 → Zanzibar 4 → final JRO-area night 1. A good compromise if you want wildlife, beach and a little breathing room.
For a safari, compare exactly what is included:
park fees, vehicle, guide, accommodation, meals, airport transfers and whether the safari is private or shared.
For Kilimanjaro, use a properly licensed operator and do not choose solely on price.
Route length, guide quality, altitude management, porter welfare, equipment and evacuation procedures matter far more than saving one day.
The late-August / early-September reference dates fall in one of Tanzania's strongest periods for both safari travel and Kilimanjaro trekking,
so I would book the main safari or climbing component before worrying about individual city hotels.
