an attractive long-haul price.
The fact that the fare also includes
23 kg checked baggage is important. Travellers heading to
the Philippines for more than a few days are much less likely to need an
expensive baggage add-on after booking.
The one-stop routing also keeps the itinerary considerably more practical
than the two-stop alternatives that often appear at the bottom of the
market.
The lowest fare we found requires booking through
Mytrip rather than directly with China Southern.
Before paying, check that the final payment page still shows the same
baggage allowance, flight schedule and total price.
Also note that the very lowest price was based on
two passengers travelling together.

If the airline-direct fare is only modestly more expensive, I would
generally prefer the simplicity of
booking with the operating airline.

Metro Manila is enormous, so hotel location matters more here than simply finding the lowest room rate. For most first-time visitors, I would concentrate on Makati, Bonifacio Global City or the historic Manila / Intramuros area, depending on the type of trip you want.
I would normally spend around 2-3 nights in Manila before continuing elsewhere in the Philippines. That gives enough time for the historic centre, food, a modern district and a slower arrival day without using too much of the holiday in the capital.
Manila works best when treated as a short city stay rather than the entire Philippines holiday. The capital is useful for history, food, culture and a first taste of the country, while the beaches and island experiences are better saved for the next part of the trip.
One arrival day, one proper sightseeing day and another day for food, museums or a different district is a good balance for most first-time visitors.
Worth considering if you want to explore Manila at a slower pace, spend time in multiple districts or include more museums, markets and nightlife.
Metro Manila is very spread out. A hotel in the right district can save substantial time compared with choosing a cheaper property far from the places you actually want to visit.
For a short stay, I would combine one historic day with one more modern side of the city rather than spending the entire visit moving between shopping centres.
Walk the old walled city, visit Fort Santiago, Manila Cathedral and San Agustin Church for the strongest introduction to Manila's colonial history.
Combine Rizal Park with one of the nearby national museums for a deeper look at Philippine history, art and culture.
Explore one of the city's most interesting food districts and use the visit as an excuse to try Filipino-Chinese dishes rather than treating it only as a sightseeing stop.
Finish one day in the modern side of Metro Manila with restaurants, rooftop bars, markets or a relaxed walk through one of the newer districts.
Manila is one of the country's main gateways, so this fare works particularly well as the starting point for a wider Philippines itinerary rather than a Manila-only holiday.
