Both Turkish Airlines reference trips arrive in Panama City on 5 February 2027 at 20:05. The Milan return is 16 February (11 hotel nights); the Rome return is 18 February (13 hotel nights). January and February are typically good months for Panama City and Pacific-coast visits. The two departure options need different hotel checkout dates.
For Milan, reserve 5–16 February (11 nights). For Rome, reserve 5–18 February (13 nights). Both references reach Panama in the evening; check the hotel's late-arrival procedure and the final price including taxes.

Explore Casco Viejo, local food, the waterfront and Panama City neighbourhoods over several unhurried days.
Visit the Miraflores area to watch the canal in operation; check current visitor access and opening times.
Consider a few days at the beach or a Pacific island. Check journey times and accommodation before leaving your city base.
The rainforest, El Valle de Antón and organised Guna Yala trips are possible extensions; plan transport and entry arrangements in advance.

Panama City is a useful starting point for a wider trip. These extensions are ideas rather than included transport: confirm onward flights, border/entry rules and how much time each journey needs.

Panama can be a rewarding destination, but some practical choices matter: use well-reviewed hotels and established transport, account for tropical conditions and verify excursions carefully.
Take normal city precautions, particularly after dark, and use trusted transport for unfamiliar routes.
Check the property on a map: “Panama City” can cover very different areas, traffic conditions and travel times.
Prioritise reliable air conditioning and keep rain plans flexible. Panama City may be dry in February while Caribbean destinations differ.
Verify licensed/established operators, early departures, cash/fee rules and accommodation standards for island or remote trips.
Compare taxes, breakfast, local fees, payment terms and cancellation rules before choosing a cheaper headline rate.
Allow time after the evening arrival and check the location of your hotel relative to Tocumen airport.
Look for repeated complaints about air conditioning, cleanliness, noise, security or deposits rather than relying on the overall score.
Check passport/visa requirements for any onward destination. There is no through road from Panama to Colombia across the Darién Gap.
