A decent one-stop fare from Milan Malpensa to Jeju, South Korea
with China Eastern and a very generous 2 x 23 kg checked-baggage allowance.
The reference itinerary is 4-15 September 2026 at around
€587 return via Gotogate on Skyscanner.
This is not one of those deals I would oversell. The price is good rather than extraordinary,
availability is limited to only three combinations, and the booking is shown as a
combination of one-way tickets.
The main positives are the through-routing to Jeju with only one stop each way and
46 kg of checked baggage included.

You are getting all the way from Milan to Jeju with only one stop in Shanghai
and 2 x 23 kg checked baggage included.
That makes the fare much more practical for a longer South Korea trip than a cheap
cabin-bag-only headline price.
It also saves you from having to buy a separate domestic flight from Seoul to Jeju,
although that alternative may sometimes produce a cheaper total fare.
The main issue is the booking structure.
Skyscanner shows the itinerary as a combination of one-way tickets,
and the cheapest option is through Gotogate.
That can make changes, cancellations or refunds more complicated than one simple round-trip ticket.
The return itinerary is also long at 19h50, including a
5h45 Shanghai layover.
Finally, only three date combinations were found,
and cheaper overall Korea trips may sometimes be possible by flying to Seoul first
and purchasing a separate domestic ticket to Jeju.
This is the fare shown in the proof.
Before paying, I would check the final total carefully and read the change / cancellation conditions,
especially because Skyscanner labels the itinerary as a combination of one-way tickets.
China Eastern's own website is not particularly user-friendly,
but I would still compare the airline's final price if practical.
I would also check Milan → Seoul fares plus a separate domestic ticket to Jeju.
That can sometimes beat the €587 through-fare, although it adds another booking and more travel logistics.
Availability is limited to three combinations, all using the same 15 September return date. The 4-15 September itinerary is the reference trip.
A good but not exceptional Korea deal: strong baggage, one-stop routing and a useful Jeju arrival, balanced against limited availability, a long return journey, Gotogate booking and the separate one-way ticket construction.

The reference flight arrives in Jeju on 5 September and departs on 15 September 2026, giving you approximately 10 hotel nights.
For a first visit I think 5-6 nights on Jeju itself is ideal. That gives you enough time to see both the north and south of the island without turning every day into a long drive. With the 10-night reference trip, you can then use the remaining time for mainland Korea or even a short Japan side trip before returning to Jeju for the flight home.
Jeju looks compact on a map, but the attractions are spread around the island and travel between regions takes time. For a first trip I would consider 4 nights the minimum, 5-6 nights the sweet spot, and 7+ nights worthwhile if hiking, Olle trails, beaches and slower travel are the main reason for coming.
Enough for a compact north + south itinerary, but you will need to prioritise carefully and probably skip either the far east or far west.
The best balance for a first visit. Split the island between two bases and you can see a lot without spending every day in transit.
Ideal if you want proper hikes, Olle Trail sections, Udo, beaches, cafés and weather flexibility rather than simply ticking off highlights.
I would not stay in the same hotel for the whole island unless you strongly dislike changing accommodation. For 5-6 nights, two bases work very well; for 8-10 nights, three bases can make sense.
Use the arrival days for the north coast, Dongmun Market, local food and an easier start after the long journey from Europe.
Make this the main base for waterfalls, the south coast, Hallasan / 1100 Road, Olle routes and a slower day around the resort or city.
Enough to catch the eastern side without a long return journey, especially if you want Seongsan Ilchulbong and Udo.
The island's volcanic centrepiece. Serious hikers can dedicate a full day; lighter travellers can choose shorter trails or scenic viewpoints.
One of the best east-side combinations: sunrise-peak scenery followed by a slower island day on Udo if conditions cooperate.
Waterfalls, coastal walks, markets and Olle Trail sections make the south worth more than a quick day trip.
Leave time for black pork, seafood, cafés, local markets and coastal drives. Jeju is better when every day is not packed from morning to night.
Because your international return ticket still departs from Jeju, any side trip should finish with at least one final night back in Jeju City. I would not risk a separate positioning flight on the same day as the long-haul journey home.
Dino 10-night Korea idea: Jeju City 2 nights → Seogwipo / Jungmun 3 nights → Seongsan / east 1 night → Seoul 3 nights → Jeju City 1 final night.Dino Korea + Japan idea: Jeju 6 nights → Fukuoka or Tokyo 3 nights → Jeju City 1 final night.
Your Milan ticket starts and finishes in Jeju, so a Seoul, Busan or Japan side trip is a
separate booking.
I would always return to Jeju the day before the China Eastern flight home.
If a separate domestic or international flight is delayed or cancelled,
the long-haul airline is not responsible for protecting an unrelated positioning ticket.
Japan services from Jeju can also operate only on selected days depending on the route,
so check the exact schedule before reserving hotels.
