A 2h10 connection is operationally sensible,
but in Economy the timing means a fairly disrupted night.
September is also part of Phuket's wetter period,
so travellers should expect a higher chance of tropical showers than during the peak winter season.

The fare is attractive because it combines the low price with

One of Phuket's biggest advantages is the amount of accommodation competition on the island. Even in popular beach areas you can often find well-rated 4-star and 5-star hotels from around €50 per room per night on selected dates, which makes Phuket one of the easier Thai beach destinations to upgrade without completely blowing the budget.
For the reference 18-27 September trip, our choice is Avista Grande Phuket Karon - MGallery. It is more expensive than the cheapest hotels on the island, but it combines excellent reviews, a strong Karon Beach location, resort-style facilities and several meal-plan choices, including options that can go all the way up to all-inclusive.
The reference flight itinerary gives you 8 hotel nights in Phuket, which is a very good length for a first visit. It is long enough to enjoy the beach without rushing while still leaving time for Old Phuket Town, island-hopping, viewpoints and at least one full excursion day.
A very good balance for Phuket: enough beach time, several activity days and still room to slow down.
Still works if Phuket is only one stop on a wider Thailand trip, but I would avoid trying to pack in too many island excursions.
Gives you time to add Krabi, Khao Lak or another island instead of spending every night on Phuket itself.
For this deal we would choose Avista Grande Phuket Karon - MGallery, a polished resort-style property in the Karon area that gives you a much more premium stay without moving into the ultra-luxury price bracket.
The hotel is rated 8.9/10 on Booking.com in the attached listing, while you also found an impressive 4.8/5 Google Maps rating from more than 3,000 reviews. That combination gives the property a very strong review profile across two major platforms.
The location also works very well for a first Phuket beach stay. The hotel is in Karon, close to the beach and within easy reach of restaurants, shops and the wider west-coast resort strip, while still being noticeably calmer than Patong.
The property offers two swimming pools, three restaurants, a spa and wellness centre, fitness facilities, free Wi-Fi and free on-site parking. The listing also highlights sea-view room options and a strong reputation for breakfast.
For the reference 8-night stay, the displayed Deluxe Room sample started at around €842 total, or roughly €105 per room per night. For two people sharing, that is approximately €53 per person per night.
One of the biggest advantages here is the choice of meal plans. Depending on the rate you select, you can keep costs down with a simpler room rate, add breakfast, or move up through higher-board options all the way to all-inclusive. That makes the hotel useful for very different travel styles: from travellers who want to eat around Phuket every evening to couples who prefer to keep most meals inside the resort.

Phuket is large enough that the area you choose can completely change the feel of the trip. For a first visit I would pick the beach zone based on how much nightlife, calm and resort atmosphere you want.
One of the classic Phuket excursions, combining dramatic limestone scenery, sea caves and island stops. A very good use of one full day.
Another obvious island-hopping option. It can be busy, so I would choose a well-reviewed small-group or early-departure tour if possible.
Break up the beach days with colourful Sino-Portuguese architecture, cafés, local food and markets in Phuket's historic centre.
Do not over-schedule an eight-night stay. Leave at least two or three days free for Karon Beach, the pool, spa and simply enjoying the hotel.
Eight nights is enough to stay entirely in Phuket, but longer Etihad fare combinations make it easy to turn this into a wider southern Thailand trip.
