Full-service flights from Prague to Santiago, CHILE for €571 / CZK 13,900 with American Airlines!

23 kg check-in baggage included
Travel period
August – September 2026

Full-service Prague to Santiago from €571 (CZK 13,900) on American Airlines with 23 kg check-in baggage included — a proper legacy-carrier fare deep into South America with a full suitcase already bundled, not a stripped transatlantic base fare that nickel-and-dimes you at check-in. Santiago sits in a bowl of Andean peaks: cable-car sunsets on Cerro San Cristóbal, Bellavista street art and late-night wine bars, Mercado Central seafood lunches, and day trips to colourful Valparaíso or the Maipo Valley's vineyards — plus the classic launch pad for Patagonia, the Atacama Desert, or Easter Island when you want Chile to go epic.

Routing is two stops each way on American Airlines — Prague out, change planes twice, land in Santiago; same pattern homeward. The upside: Dino checked the itineraries and the connections are well timed, with no long overnight layovers that turn a bargain fare into a sleep-deprived airport camp. You trade a nonstop you will never find on this city pair for brisk hub turns on a major US network, with 23 kg of luggage included so you can pack for Andean altitude swings and Chile's late-winter shoulder season. Sale dates run August and September 2026 — ski-season snow in the nearby Andes, crisp clear days in Santiago, and wine country waking up before the summer rush.

Confirm exact connection airports and layover lengths both directions before you pay — two stops is still two stops, even when the turns are efficient. Check whether you need a US transit visa or ESTA for your passport, American Airlines fare rules, and Chile entry requirements. At €571 with a full 23 kg checked bag on board, this is sharp full-service value from Central Europe into Chile for travellers happy with double connections rather than holding out for a miracle nonstop.

Dino Verdict

Excellent Chile pricing for travellers willing to accept a long journey

Return flights from Prague to Santiago de Chile are available from approximately €571 with American Airlines.

The fare includes carry-on baggage and one checked suitcase up to 50 lb, approximately 23 kg. This significantly strengthens the value compared with a stripped-down long-haul fare.

Eight date combinations were found across August and September, with trip lengths ranging from approximately nine nights to more than two weeks.

The main compromise is the routing. Both directions involve two US connections, normally through Philadelphia and Miami, with total journey times of approximately 26 to 28 hours outbound and around 29 hours on the return.

Some dates have an outbound duration of around 27 hours and 35 minutes, while the return itinerary remains broadly similar across the available combinations.

The flight times themselves are generally reasonable, but the number of sectors, US immigration procedures and long total journey time make this a deal aimed primarily at price-driven travellers.

Price 9.5/10

€571 return is outstanding pricing for Prague to Santiago, especially with both cabin baggage and a checked suitcase included.

Baggage 9.0/10

Carry-on baggage and one checked bag up to approximately 23 kg are included in the displayed fare.

Outbound routing 6.8/10

The itinerary requires two connections in Philadelphia and Miami, with total journey times of approximately 26 to 28 hours.

Return routing 5.9/10

The return takes around 29 hours and can include an extended connection in Philadelphia, making it the main weakness.

Schedules 7.1/10

Departure and arrival times are generally sensible, but the long total journey and multiple sectors reduce overall convenience.

Availability 9.2/10

Eight combinations were found across August and September, with a useful range of trip lengths and consistent routing.

Airline 7.7/10

American Airlines provides a protected full-service itinerary, but the onboard product is less compelling than the price itself.

Overall value 8.6/10

The exceptionally low fare and included baggage compensate for many of the routing compromises, especially for flexible travellers.

Why this deal stands out

Flights from Central Europe to Chile can often cost considerably more, especially when a checked suitcase is added.

At approximately €571 return, this fare provides access to a distant South American destination at an unusually low price, with a full baggage allowance already included.

US transit and restrictive fare conditions

Both directions transit the United States. Travellers generally need an approved ESTA or the appropriate US visa, even when only changing flights.

Passengers normally complete US immigration and customs formalities at the first US airport. Checked baggage may need to be collected and rechecked before continuing, even when all flights are issued on one ticket.

The cheapest fare may be non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Confirm all conditions carefully before booking non-refundable accommodation, internal flights or tours.

Best for: flexible, price-conscious travellers who want to visit Chile with checked baggage included and do not mind a long two-stop itinerary.

Less ideal for: travellers who dislike US transit, multiple connections, long layovers or journeys approaching 30 hours.

Dino’s advice: check every connection carefully before booking and make sure you meet the US transit requirements. At this price, the fare is excellent, but the long routing should be treated as a major part of the decision.

Where to stay in Santiago: begin your Chile trip with a central city base

Santiago offers a broad selection of accommodation, ranging from modern business hotels and serviced apartments to stylish boutique properties and international hotel brands.

For our sample search from 19 August to 21 August, well-rated 3 and 4-star hotels in central locations were available from approximately €90 per night.

When travelling as a couple, this works out at around €45 per person per night, offering reasonable value for a comfortable and conveniently located stay in Chile’s capital.

Spending the first two or three nights in Santiago can be a practical way to recover from the long journey, adjust to the local time and explore the city before continuing to other parts of Chile.

Santiago can also serve as a useful starting point for onward travel to the coast, including Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, as well as the surrounding wine regions, the Andes and destinations farther south.

Neighbourhoods such as Providencia, Las Condes, Bellavista and selected parts of the historic centre are commonly considered by visitors. Each offers a different balance of restaurants, transport links, nightlife, sightseeing and hotel pricing.

Before booking, check the property’s distance from a Metro station and the areas you plan to visit. Santiago is a large city, and choosing a well-connected location can reduce daily travel time and make short stays considerably easier.

Dino tip: if you plan to continue toward the coast or begin a longer Chile itinerary, choose a flexible or refundable rate for the first nights. This gives you more freedom if your arrival is delayed or your onward plans change.
