A very strong full-service Economy fare from
Rome to Mumbai with Royal Jordanian.
The itinerary has
one stop in Amman each way, with efficient connections and
30 kg checked baggage plus 7 kg cabin baggage included.
OTA prices were generally around
€356-€370 return through Aviasales,
while the same route was also available directly on the
Royal Jordanian website from around €399.
With more than a dozen date combinations found from September to December,
this is unusually good availability for a fare at this level.
Royal Jordanian direct: from around €399.
Royal Jordanian
Rome 17:40 → Amman 23:25.
50-minute connection in Amman.
Amman 00:15 → Mumbai 07:45.
Total journey time:
9h35.
The connection is very short, but it is part of the same Royal Jordanian
itinerary rather than a self-transfer.
Royal Jordanian
Mumbai 09:20 → Amman 12:50.
1h40 connection in Amman.
Amman 14:30 → Rome 16:40.
Total journey time:
11h50.
The return timing is practical and gets you back to Rome in the late afternoon.
The cheapest OTA prices were generally around
€356-€370 return,
with Mytrip appearing among the lowest options through Aviasales.
The fare includes
1 x 30 kg checked baggage and
1 x 7 kg carry-on baggage.
The cheapest fare shown is
non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
Royal Jordanian was also selling the route directly from around
€399 return.

Around €356 return from Rome to Mumbai is already
a strong long-haul fare.
The value improves further because the fare includes
30 kg checked baggage plus 7 kg cabin baggage,
rather than relying on a stripped-back basic ticket.
We also found
13 date combinations from September through December,
which makes this much easier to book than many low-price Asia fares.
The outbound connection in Amman is only
50 minutes.
Because the journey is sold as one Royal Jordanian itinerary, this is not
the same risk as a self-transfer, but travellers who dislike tight
connections should still take it into account.
The cheapest OTA fare is also shown as
non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
If the direct Royal Jordanian fare remains around €399,
I would compare the final payment-page total carefully before deciding
whether the OTA saving is worth it.
This is the cheapest price range we found.
The saving versus Royal Jordanian direct can be around
€29-€43 per person, depending on the exact date.
If choosing the OTA, verify the
30 kg checked baggage, flight times and final payment-page total
before purchasing.
Royal Jordanian was also showing fares around
€399 return for this route.
For a difference of roughly €30-€45,
I would personally check the airline-direct price before buying through an OTA.
The airline website can also be useful for discovering
additional low-fare dates, which you can then compare again through Aviasales.
We found 13 date combinations from September through December 2026. You may also find additional dates directly on the Royal Jordanian website and then compare those same dates again through Aviasales.
A very strong India fare with excellent pricing, generous baggage, efficient one-stop routing and unusually broad availability. The very short 50-minute outbound connection and restrictive cheapest OTA fare are the main reasons this does not score even higher.

Mumbai is enormous, and traffic can make apparently short journeys take much longer than expected. For a first visit I would choose the hotel based on the part of the city you actually want to explore, rather than simply taking the cheapest well-rated option.
For most first-time visitors, I would spend around 3 nights in Mumbai. That is enough for the major South Mumbai sights, food, markets and one more relaxed evening. If you want to add Elephanta Caves, Bollywood-related experiences or explore the suburbs properly, 4 nights gives the trip a much better pace.
Mumbai can fill anything from two days to a week, but for this fare I would treat it as the gateway to a wider India trip. Three nights is the sweet spot for most travellers; four nights makes sense if you want to slow down or add a longer excursion.
Spend two full days around South Mumbai and one evening exploring food, markets or another neighbourhood.
Better if you want Elephanta Caves, Bollywood-related sightseeing, Bandra, Juhu or simply less time spent rushing between areas.
The reference return flight leaves at 09:20, so I would spend the final night back in Mumbai rather than relying on a same-morning domestic connection.
For a three-night stay, I would focus on South Mumbai first, then use the final day or evening for Bandra, food, markets or one longer excursion rather than trying to cross the entire city repeatedly.
Start with Mumbai's most recognisable waterfront area, then explore Colaba, nearby museums and the historic streets of South Mumbai.
Combine Marine Drive with the Victorian and Art Deco districts, Churchgate and the magnificent Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.
A classic half- or full-day addition from the Gateway of India if you have enough time and want to add one of Mumbai's UNESCO-listed heritage experiences.
Use one evening for Mumbai's street food, Parsi cuisine, cafés or Bandra's restaurant scene rather than treating the city only as a sightseeing checklist.
With the reference trip lasting around two weeks, Mumbai should probably be the beginning and end of the holiday rather than the only destination. These are three extensions I would seriously consider.
Dino itinerary idea for the reference two-week trip: 3 nights Mumbai + 4 nights Goa + 3 nights Udaipur or Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, then use the remaining nights for another stop or return to Mumbai comfortably before the 09:20 flight home.A few useful extras that can make the journey easier, particularly when travelling with restrictive cabin-bag fares, arriving late or needing mobile data as soon as you land.
