This is not a spectacular headline fare, but it is a very practical one-stop itinerary from Riga to southern Vietnam with a 23 kg checked bag included.
The schedule is the strongest part of the deal: civilised departure times, no overnight airport connection and only one stop in Paris in each direction.
The cheapest reference option is approximately €642 through eDreams, found via Skyscanner Malta.
For only around €22 more, the same reference itinerary was also available for approximately €665 directly from Air France, which would be my preferred booking option.
The long-haul sectors between Paris and Ho Chi Minh City are operated by Air France, while the Riga-Paris feeder sectors are partly operated by airBaltic.
I found 12 date combinations from September 2026 through February 2027.
For this page I am using 02 Feb - 14 Feb 2027 as the reference itinerary because it combines the fare with the strongest seasonality among the dates found. February sits within southern Vietnam's generally drier period, while many of the September-November alternatives fall in the wetter season.

The new reference itinerary is 02-14 February 2027. eDreams showed a non-discounted fare of €641.97 per passenger, rounded here to €642 return. The proof also confirms check-in baggage is included. The Prime subscription price shown in the screenshot is not used as the headline fare. Air France direct remains my preferred booking option when its own fare stays close to the OTA price.
At €642, this is a good fare rather than an exceptional one, and the February reference dates improve the overall trip value because they fall in the drier season.
The stronger selling point is the quality of the routing from Riga.
You have only one stop in Paris in each direction, no self-transfer, no overnight airport connection and sensible local departure and arrival times.
The return is especially efficient with only 1h30 at CDG.
Add the included 23 kg checked bag and the option to pay only around €23 more to choose Air France as the vendor through Skyscanner, and the overall package becomes much more attractive than the headline fare alone suggests.
The new 02-14 February 2027 reference itinerary is the date combination I would prioritise if weather matters.
Southern Vietnam is generally in its drier period from December through April, so February is more favourable for Ho Chi Minh City and for combining the trip with southern beach destinations.
The September, October and November alternatives are still usable, but they fall within the wetter part of the year and carry a higher chance of tropical showers and humidity.
This is the headline fare and the cheapest reference price found.

Keeping the reservation with the operating long-haul airline can simplify after-sales support, schedule changes and disruption handling.

For the first nights of the February reference trip, our pick is Kin Hotel Thi Sach Edition in District 1. It gives you a central location, a rooftop pool and a strong 9.2/10 guest score without pushing the trip into luxury-hotel prices.
This is a very good example of why Ho Chi Minh City can be such strong value. You are staying in District 1, close to some of the city's best-known sights, while still getting facilities that feel much more upscale than the price suggests.

Location is a major advantage here. The hotel is around 4 minutes on foot from the Saigon Opera House, approximately 600 metres from Union Square and about 6 km from Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
For the first few nights after a long flight from Europe, this is the kind of property I like: central enough to explore immediately, comfortable enough to recover from the journey, but still reasonably priced.

The supplied search is for 03–06 February 2027 · 3 nights · 2 adults · 1 room. Prices can change, but this gives a useful idea of what a very well-rated central hotel can cost in Ho Chi Minh City.
For a first visit, I would normally stay in or very close to District 1. It keeps sightseeing simple, but there are a few different neighbourhood styles worth comparing.
With around 11 hotel nights available after the morning arrival on 3 February, I would not spend the entire trip in Ho Chi Minh City. Three nights is a good introduction, then Vietnam becomes much more interesting once you start moving.

This gives you city, culture and beach time without trying to cover the whole country.

Better if you care more about food, cities and culture than finishing the trip at a resort.
Vietnam is much larger than it looks on a map. With this trip length I would choose two additional regions at most rather than trying to fit Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An, the Mekong and Phu Quoc into the same holiday.
