🌎 How I would use the 7-night stay
Keep the arrival day easy and give yourself at least two relaxed beach days. This is a one-week Caribbean trip, not a race around the island.
Seven Mile Beach and the west-coast sunset make Negril the most obvious longer day trip from Montego Bay.
Choose one bigger outing such as waterfalls, river rafting or an inland nature experience rather than stacking expensive tours every day.
Spend at least one day outside the resort routine: local food, markets, music and a slower afternoon can be more memorable than another organised excursion.

For a one-week trip I would normally keep one hotel base, but these are the most natural add-ons if you want to explore beyond Montego Bay.
NegrilBest known for Seven Mile Beach and sunsets. Easy enough for a day trip, although an overnight stay makes more sense if you want a slower pace.
Ocho RiosUseful for waterfalls, gardens and north-coast attractions. It is a longer transfer, so start early if visiting from Montego Bay.
KingstonMuch more urban and cultural than the resort coast. Better as part of a longer Jamaica itinerary rather than a rushed day trip from Montego Bay.

Montego Bay is a major resort destination, but October weather, transport costs and hotel inclusions deserve more attention than they would on a simple European city break.
October is within Atlantic hurricane season. Check the latest forecast before travel and make sure your travel insurance is suitable for the trip.
Bring repellent and check recent hotel reviews for mosquito or insect issues, especially after rain or at properties with lush gardens.
Transport can add up quickly. Check airport-transfer prices, hotel shuttles and how easy it is to reach restaurants or beaches before choosing a cheaper remote hotel.
Do not assume every property has free direct beach access. Confirm whether access is private, public, through a beach club or requires transport.
Check whether the displayed price includes all taxes, service charges, resort fees and mandatory extras. Compare the final total, not the first nightly rate.
Use normal precautions, especially after dark and away from busy resort areas. Ask the hotel about safe transport and avoid carrying unnecessary valuables.
