Hanoi
from €537 return
About this deal
Helsinki to Hanoi from around €537 return with Turkish Airlines, including
20 kg checked baggage. The fare is available through Flightnetwork via Skyscanner Finland.
The schedule is strong on the two date combinations I would actually recommend. The reference trip is
4–17 February 2027, with a 1-hour Istanbul connection outbound and a
3-hour connection on the return.
There are other low fares around these dates, but most of them involve an overnight connection in Istanbul
that would realistically mean booking a hotel. I have deliberately left those out rather than pretending the availability is better than it is.
One booking detail to know: the cheapest Flightnetwork option is via Skyscanner Finland, so the payment is in euros
but the booking flow is in Finnish. If you prefer an English-language flow with euro payment, switch Skyscanner to
Ireland or Malta; pricing should normally remain in a similar range. Turkish Airlines is also listed as a vendor on
Skyscanner from around €559.

What makes this fare worth considering
I found many other cheap-looking combinations, but most involve an overnight Istanbul connection that would realistically require a hotel. I do not count those as good availability. For this reason, I am only recommending 4–17 February and 4–18 February.
One hour in Istanbul is tight, but this is a through Turkish Airlines itinerary. I would still move efficiently after landing and avoid treating it like a leisurely transfer.
Booking options
This is the lowest price I found. The booking flow is in Finnish, although the fare is charged in euros.
Check 4–17 February →If you prefer an English-language checkout, switch Skyscanner's market to Ireland or Malta. The exact vendor and price can move, but the fare should normally remain around the same range.
Open reference search →Turkish Airlines itself was listed as a vendor on the same Skyscanner results page from around €559. For only about €22 more than the lowest fare, many travellers may prefer booking directly with the airline.
Compare vendors on Skyscanner →Cheap fares appear on other dates too, but most involve an overnight stop in Istanbul and would realistically require a hotel. These are the two combinations with sensible connections.
Excellent fare, very good airline, cheap destination and a strong schedule when you pick the right dates. The reason the score stays below 9 is simple: useful availability is extremely limited.

Hanoi hotel playbook
The reference itinerary gives you 12 hotel nights in Vietnam, arriving in Hanoi on 5 February 2027 and flying home late on 17 February 2027. Hanoi itself deserves around 3–4 nights for a first visit. With nearly two weeks available, I would use the rest for places such as Ninh Binh, Ha Long Bay, Sapa or a domestic flight south.
Hanoi has an enormous range of good-value hotels, from simple boutique stays to polished 4–5 star properties. Start on Booking.com, keep Karma active, then compare the exact same room and conditions. A small rate difference can become meaningful across a longer 12-night trip.
💰 Dino hotel booking method
In Hanoi, being one street closer to Hoan Kiem or one street deeper into the Old Quarter can change the whole feel of the stay. Pick the area first.
Once you shortlist a hotel, let Karma check whether another seller is offering the same room for less.
Compare the final total after taxes and meal-plan differences. A €5 saving is not worth giving up free cancellation or a better room.
⏳ How many nights in Hanoi?
Enough for a fast introduction to the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem and the main food streets, but it will feel rushed.
The best balance for a first visit. Enough time for the main sights, cafés, street food and one slower day without overdoing the city.
Good if you like cities, food and cafés or want to use Hanoi as a base for a day trip to Ninh Binh.
I would not spend all 12 in Hanoi. Use the extra time to see more of northern Vietnam or add a domestic flight south.
📍 Best areas to stay in Hanoi
The classic first-time choice. Busy, chaotic, walkable and packed with food, cafés, markets and small boutique hotels.
My favourite balance for many visitors: central, easy to walk, close to the lake and slightly calmer depending on the street.
Wider streets, grander hotels and a more polished atmosphere. Good if you want central Hanoi without sleeping in the busiest lanes.
Quieter and more spacious with cafés, restaurants and lake views. Better for longer stays than for a first 48-hour sightseeing sprint.
🌎 What to do with the other nights
Easy 1–2 night extension for limestone scenery, river boats and countryside. Much better overnight than squeezed into a rushed day trip.
Best as a 1-night cruise if the weather cooperates. Compare cruise quality carefully rather than simply choosing the cheapest boat.
Good for mountain scenery and trekking, but February can be cool, misty and damp. Check the forecast before committing several nights.
If you want a completely different feel, take a domestic flight south for 3–4 nights and then return to Hanoi before the long-haul flight home.
⚠️ Hanoi practical survival kit
Grab is generally the easiest way to price and order rides without negotiating every journey. Airport transfers are especially simple this way.
Hanoi is one of those places where the cheapest meals can also be the most memorable. Busy stalls with quick turnover are often a good sign.
Do not pack for tropical heat only. Hanoi in February can feel cool, damp and grey, especially in the evenings.
Vietnam is one of the destinations where upgrading from a basic room to a very good boutique or 4-star stay can cost surprisingly little.
Hanoi is excellent for food tours, Old Quarter walks, cooking classes and day trips. For a longer trip, also compare Ninh Binh excursions and Ha Long / Lan Ha Bay cruises — but avoid filling every day with organised tours.
