Malé, Maldives
from £312 return
About this deal
A very strong full-service fare from London to Malé, Maldives with Turkish Airlines from just £312 return.
The lowest fare I found is 19–30 November 2026 at £312 per person. My preferred reference is 1–9 December 2026 at £317.65 per person because it departs and returns to the same London airport and keeps the itinerary simple.
The fare includes a small personal item, a cabin bag and a 20 kg checked bag. The December reference also has a sensible daytime departure from London, one protected connection in Istanbul each way, and no overnight airport wait.
The cheapest booking path is currently TravelUp via the prepared Skyscanner UK links, generally around £312–£326 return. You can also book directly with Turkish Airlines, usually around £345–£360 return on the dates checked.

The absolute cheapest fare is £312, but the 1–9 December itinerary is my preferred option because it keeps London Gatwick in both directions, includes the same baggage allowance and remains only a few pounds above the headline fare.
The reference has a 4h50 connection outbound and 6h00 on the return. They are protected connections on one Turkish Airlines itinerary and there is no overnight airport wait, but the return journey still reaches 18h35.

Use the prepared Skyscanner link for your chosen dates and select the TravelUp fare when it is still available. The lowest proof is £312 per person, while the cleaner 1–9 December reference was £317.65 per person.
CHECK OUR PICK · 01 DEC – 09 DEC →If you prefer dealing directly with the airline, the dates checked were generally around £345–£360 return on Turkish Airlines. That is roughly £30–£45 more per person than the strongest TravelUp fares, but removes the OTA from the booking.
I prepared 7 useful date combinations. Prices checked on TravelUp via Skyscanner UK were generally around £312–£326 return per person. The 19–30 November option is the cheapest proof, while 1–9 December is my preferred itinerary for the cleaner London airport setup.
An excellent Maldives fare with 20 kg checked baggage already included, full-service Turkish Airlines flights and seven prepared date combinations from £312 return. The biggest compromise is the relatively long Istanbul connection, especially on the return.

Maldives hotel playbook
The reference Turkish Airlines itinerary arrives at Malé on 2 December 2026 at 07:25 and leaves on 9 December at 09:00. That gives you 7 hotel nights in the Maldives. For this trip I would choose the stay around the transfer: an easy-access resort in North or South Malé Atoll, a local-island base such as Maafushi for better value, or Hulhumalé if airport convenience matters most.
In the Maldives, the room price is only part of the real trip cost. Before paying, confirm the speedboat, seaplane or domestic-flight transfer, whether it is mandatory, how much it costs per person, and whether the schedule works with your 07:25 arrival and 09:00 return flight. A cheaper resort can become much more expensive once transfers and local charges are added.

💰 Dino hotel booking method
Decide whether you want a resort island, a local island or an airport-convenient base before comparing prices. In the Maldives, location determines the transfer method, atmosphere and much of the final cost.
Check the mandatory speedboat, seaplane or domestic-flight transfer for every property you shortlist. Compare the round-trip cost for all travellers and make sure the schedule works with the flights.
Use Booking.com, Karma and Trivago as extra checks, but compare the full seven-night amount including meals, taxes, service charges, transfer costs and payment conditions — not just the headline room rate.
🌙 How many hotel nights?
Check in: 2 December.
Check out: 9 December 2026.
Arrival is at 07:25. Confirm when your resort transfer departs and whether luggage storage, breakfast or early room access is available while you wait for check-in.
A full week is enough to justify the transfer cost and enjoy the resort or local island without turning the holiday into a rushed island-hopping exercise.
This needs attention. Ask the property to confirm it can get you to MLE in time. For remote islands, the safest solution may be spending the final night in Hulhumalé or Malé.
📍 Best areas to stay
North Malé Atoll
One of the easiest resort choices from MLE, with many properties reachable by speedboat. Strong if you want the classic resort experience without adding a domestic flight or long seaplane transfer.
South Malé Atoll
Another practical resort zone with good access from the airport. Useful if you want beautiful beaches and reef time while keeping transfer logistics relatively simple.
Maafushi / local islands
Better for travellers who want guesthouses, local restaurants and lower accommodation costs. The atmosphere is very different from a private-island resort, so choose it deliberately rather than purely on price.
Hulhumalé / Malé
Best for airport convenience, a first or final night, or a very early departure. It is not the postcard resort experience, but it can solve awkward transfer schedules efficiently.
🌎 How I would use the 7-night stay
The Maldives is one destination where doing less is part of the point. Leave several days genuinely free for the beach, lagoon, pool and reef rather than filling every day with excursions.
Check recent reviews of the house reef before choosing a resort if snorkelling matters. A beautiful island and a strong accessible reef are not always the same thing.
A dolphin cruise, sandbank trip or snorkelling excursion can add variety without turning a relaxing week into a packed itinerary.
On a resort island you may have almost no alternatives outside the hotel. Compare breakfast, half-board and all-inclusive prices before booking because meal costs can materially change the total trip budget.
🗺️ Where to go next
With only seven nights, I would usually keep the trip simple. One main island or resort is enough; add a second base only if it solves airport logistics or gives you a genuinely different experience.
Resort → Hulhumalé
The most practical split for this itinerary if your resort cannot guarantee an early transfer for the 09:00 flight home. Spend the final night close to MLE and remove the stress.
Maafushi → resort island
A useful contrast if you want a few lower-cost local-island nights followed by a shorter private-resort stay. Check transfer links carefully before committing to the split.
Stay put for all 7 nights
Often the best option. Choose one island that matches your budget and priorities, pay for the transfer once, unpack once and enjoy the week properly.
⚠️ Dangers + what to look out for
The Maldives is straightforward once the logistics are understood, but transfer costs, resort-only spending, local rules and the wrong island choice can make a cheap-looking hotel much more expensive than expected.
Confirm the round-trip speedboat, seaplane or domestic-flight cost before booking. Some resorts require their own transfer and will not let you arrange a cheaper alternative independently.
Check whether taxes, service charges and any local environmental or tourism charges are already included in the displayed total or collected separately.
Your flight leaves MLE at 09:00. Do not assume a remote island can get you to the airport in time. Ask the property to confirm the actual departure transfer before paying.
On private resort islands you may be a captive customer for food and drinks. A cheap room-only rate can cost more overall than a higher half-board or all-inclusive package.
Local islands follow Maldivian laws and customs, including restrictions on alcohol. Resort islands operate differently. Know which type of island you are booking so expectations match reality.
Follow local advice when swimming or snorkelling. Currents can be stronger than the lagoon appears, and reef conditions vary significantly by island and weather.
Tropical sun is intense even on cloudy days. Plan shade, water and high-SPF protection, especially during boat trips and long snorkelling sessions.
Look for repeated complaints about transfer organisation, tired rooms, poor reef access, food quality, construction noise, surprise charges or beach erosion before committing.
🛡️ Practical booking notes
Add the room, taxes, service charges, meals and mandatory transfers together before deciding which property is genuinely cheaper.
Ask the hotel or resort for the transfer method, price, meeting point and timing for both arrival and departure. The 09:00 return flight is the part I would double-check most carefully.
A cheaper rate is not automatically better if meals disappear, the transfer costs more, taxes sit outside the headline price or the room category is materially worse.
If a distant resort cannot guarantee a sufficiently early transfer, price a final night in Hulhumalé or Malé rather than gambling with the international flight home.
