included, while still paying around €340 return and booking directly
through Iberia.
Checked baggage is not included, so travellers who need a suitcase
should compare the upgrade price on Iberia before booking.

final fare rules and US entry requirements before payment.
Best for: travellers who want a low-cost New York trip but still want a proper cabin bag and meals included.
Less ideal for: travellers who need checked baggage or prefer nonstop flights.
Dino’s advice: this is a very good fare to publish. The direct Iberia booking and cabin-bag inclusion make it much cleaner than many other cheap transatlantic deals.

Where to stay in New York: expect accommodation to be the expensive part
New York is one of those destinations where the flight can be the cheap part of the trip. Accommodation is expensive, and there is no real way around it if you want a good location, decent reviews and a place that feels comfortable enough for a city break.
For our sample search, the most interesting options in central or well-connected areas with good reviews started from around €160 per night. When travelling as a couple, that works out at approximately €80 per person per night.
That is not exactly cheap, but for New York it is a realistic starting point. The city has a shortage of genuinely good and affordable accommodation, especially in areas that make sense for first-time visitors or shorter trips.
Personally, I would be careful with hotels that look dramatically cheaper than the rest. In New York, very low prices can often mean a poor location, tiny rooms, weak reviews, shared facilities, high resort or destination fees, or long daily commutes that quickly become tiring.
For a short New York trip, location matters. Staying in Manhattan is usually the most convenient, but well-connected parts of Brooklyn, Queens or New Jersey can also make sense if the hotel is close to reliable public transport and the total price is clearly better.
Dino tip: do not judge the hotel only by the nightly rate. Always check the final price including taxes and fees, recent reviews, room size, bathroom setup, public-transport access and the time it will take to reach the places you actually want to visit.
