WINTER ESCAPE! Direct flights from Gdansk to Reykjavik, ICELAND for €97 / PLN 436 with Icelandair!

Travel period
October – November – December 2026

Winter escape: direct Gdansk to Reykjavik for €97 / PLN 436 on Icelandair with regular cabin baggage included — a nonstop hop from Poland's Baltic coast into the land of fire and ice without the budget-carrier baggage games. That matters: on routes like this, Wizzair-style fares often include only a small under-seat bag, then charge extra for a proper overhead carry-on — by the time you add bags and seat fees, the headline price balloons. Icelandair is a full-service national carrier: your fare already includes a standard cabin bag in the overhead bin, which makes packing for an Icelandic winter — thermals, waterproof layers, and a real weekend bag — far less stressful.

Reykjavik in winter is Harpa's glass facade glowing at dusk, Hallgrímskirkja above rainbow-painted streets, geothermal pools when the air bites, and the launch pad for Golden Circle drives, black-sand south coast, and northern-lights hunts when skies clear. Travel runs October, November and December 2026 — aurora season building, fewer summer crowds, and that raw Icelandic light photographers chase through the shorter days.

This is the Gdansk–Reykjavik nonstop on Icelandair's network — no connection in Copenhagen or another hub, just Poland out and Iceland in on a proper carrier. Checked luggage is not included at this price; add a hold bag at booking if you need one. Confirm the flight is still nonstop both ways, cabin bag size limits, fare rules, and Iceland entry requirements for your passport before you pay.

A strong direct Icelandair fare from Gdansk to Reykjavik, with cabin baggage included. This is a better overall deal than many ultra-low-cost Iceland fares because the headline price is not just a tiny under-seat bag fare.

How to book this deal

1

Choose your dates

Pick one of the sample October, November or December combinations. More date combinations may also be possible.

2

Check baggage

The fare shows cabin baggage included. Confirm the exact size and allowance before payment.

3

Plan Iceland costs

The flight is cheap, but Iceland is expensive. Check hotels, tours, car hire and transfers before booking.

Check availability on Skyscanner

Prices and availability can change quickly. Sample fares were found from around €97 / PLN 436 return with cabin baggage included. Always confirm the final fare, baggage allowance, seller conditions, operating airline, airport details, hotel costs, car-hire costs, tour prices and Iceland travel conditions before booking.

Dino Score 8.4 out of 10

A strong Iceland fare with direct Icelandair flights, cabin baggage included and excellent winter travel appeal.

Dino Verdict

A better overall Iceland deal than many Wizz fares

Return flights from Gdansk to Reykjavik are available from around €97 / PLN 436 with Icelandair. The route is direct both ways and the fare includes cabin baggage, which makes the real value much stronger than the headline price might suggest.

This is exactly where the comparison with Wizz-style Iceland fares becomes important. A cheaper-looking low-cost fare can easily become less attractive once you add a proper cabin bag. Here, the included cabin baggage makes the deal cleaner and more honest from the start.

The outbound flight is around 4 hours, while the return is around 3 hours 35 minutes. Several October, November and December dates are available, giving this deal a strong Northern Lights and winter Iceland angle.

Price 9.0/10

Around €97 return to Iceland is excellent, especially with cabin baggage included.

Baggage value 8.8/10

Cabin baggage included makes this fare much better than a small-bag-only low-cost headline price.

Routing 8.7/10

Direct flights both ways to Reykjavik, with no connection risk and no messy routing.

Airline quality 8.4/10

Icelandair gives this deal a more solid feel than a pure ultra-low-cost Iceland run.

Aurora potential 8.5/10

October to December gives long dark nights. Aurora sightings still depend on cloud cover and solar activity.

Overall value 8.4/10

A very publishable Iceland deal: cheap fare, direct flights, cabin bag included and strong winter travel appeal.

Why this is better than many Wizz Iceland deals

The big difference is baggage. With many ultra-low-cost carriers, the advertised fare may include only a very small under-seat bag. Once you add a proper cabin bag, the real total can jump quickly.

This Icelandair fare already includes cabin baggage, which makes the price easier to trust and the deal more practical for a winter trip to Iceland.

What to check before booking

Iceland is not a cheap destination once you arrive. Before booking, check hotel prices, car hire, transfers, tours, winter road conditions and baggage rules.

Also remember that the Northern Lights are never guaranteed. You need darkness, clear skies and solar activity.

Best for: travellers who want a direct winter Iceland escape with cabin baggage included.

Less ideal for: travellers looking for a very cheap total holiday, because Iceland hotels, food, tours and transport can be expensive.

Dino’s advice: this is definitely publishable. The cabin bag included is the key selling point and makes this stronger than many cheap-looking Wizz-style Iceland fares.

Where to stay in Reykjavik: Iceland is expensive, but there is still value

Iceland is not a cheap destination, and accommodation is no exception. Even simple hotels and guesthouses in Reykjavik can feel expensive compared with many other European city breaks, so it is important to check the hotel side before booking the flight.

For our sample search from 11 December to 17 December, we found a few basic guesthouse-style options from around €100 per night. By Icelandic standards, that is not too bad — especially when travelling as a couple, where it works out at around €50 per person per night.

If your budget allows a little more flexibility, our tip is to look for a hotel that includes breakfast. Eating out in Iceland can be expensive, so a good breakfast included in the rate can make the overall trip cost feel much more manageable.

Hotels such as Storm Hotel by Keahotels and Reykjavik Lights Hotel often receive very good reviews and can still offer relatively affordable rates with breakfast included, depending on the dates. For a winter Iceland trip, that combination of good reviews, practical location and breakfast included can be worth paying slightly more for.

Dino tip: do not choose your Reykjavik hotel only by the nightly price. Check whether breakfast is included, how close it is to tour pick-up points, whether airport-bus transfers stop nearby, and how easy it will be to reach the city centre in winter conditions.

Sample hotel prices are based on example dates and two adults. Prices and availability can change quickly. Always confirm the final total, taxes, room type, breakfast inclusion, location, cancellation policy, airport-transfer options and recent guest reviews before booking.
