Tallinn
from €150 return
About this deal
This is one of those fares where the travel dates matter almost as much as the price.
Turkish Airlines is showing nonstop Istanbul–Tallinn returns around €150–€152
for dates covering Christmas and New Year.
The Dino reference trip is 23 December 2026 – 2 January 2027:
depart Istanbul on the morning of 23 December, arrive Tallinn before lunch, spend Christmas and New Year's Eve in Estonia,
then fly home on the evening of 2 January.
The fare includes a proper 8 kg cabin bag, and the schedule is unusually good for a peak-holiday deal.
Skyscanner also shows a direct Turkish Airlines booking path only a few euros above the cheapest OTA listings,
so there is very little reason to complicate this one with a third-party seller.
Routing: Nonstop both ways
Cabin baggage: 8 kg included
Reference: 23 Dec 2026 – 2 Jan 2027
Recommended booking: Turkish Airlines direct
Reference flight schedule
Turkish Airlines TK1421 · nonstop
Istanbul 08:40 → Tallinn 11:15
Journey time: 3h35.
This is close to an ideal outbound schedule for a Christmas trip:
leave Istanbul in the morning and arrive in Tallinn before lunch,
giving you most of 23 December on the ground.
Turkish Airlines TK1424 · nonstop
Tallinn 18:55 → Istanbul 23:35
Journey time: 3h40.
The evening return is another strong point: you keep almost the whole final day in Tallinn
rather than losing it to a morning airport departure.

Fare proof
Skyscanner shows the cheapest OTA listings at around €146, while the direct Turkish Airlines booking option is around €150–€152. For a difference of only a few euros, Dino strongly prefers the airline-direct option.

Why this deal stands out
A €150 European return is not automatically extraordinary.
A nonstop full-service fare at roughly €150 during Christmas and New Year is a different proposition.
You get good departure times, no connections, an 8 kg cabin bag,
and the ability to book directly with Turkish Airlines for only a few euros more than the cheapest OTA.
That combination is what pushes this into Dino Elite territory.
Turkish Airlines advertises 24-hour free cancellation on eligible online/app bookings.
This means a qualifying ticket can be cancelled within 24 hours after purchase,
provided the first flight is still at least 7 days / 168 hours away at the time of cancellation.
It is not a blanket “cancel up to 24 hours before departure” policy.
Paid extras may also fall outside the special 24-hour refund protection, so read the final conditions before buying.
Fare + booking details
Booking choice
The cheapest listings save only a handful of euros. On a peak Christmas / New Year itinerary, that saving is not enough to justify adding a third party between you and the airline.
This is the obvious choice. Pay only a few euros more and keep the booking directly with the operating airline. You also retain access to Turkish Airlines' eligible 24-hour free-cancellation policy for qualifying website/app bookings.
Check Turkish Airlines fare →All four combinations cover New Year's Eve. The two 23 December departures also put you in Tallinn for Christmas.
Dino Elite: peak Christmas + New Year dates, nonstop flights, excellent schedules and airline-direct booking at roughly €150. There is almost no meaningful compromise here for the money.

The reference flight gives you 10 nights from 23 December 2026 to 2 January 2027. That is longer than you need for Tallinn alone, but it is almost ideal if you want a relaxed Christmas city break, New Year's Eve in Tallinn and either a Helsinki day trip or a short Finland extension.
The best news is that you are not arriving too late for the festive atmosphere: Tallinn Christmas Market is officially scheduled from 20 November 2026 until 6 January 2027, so it is open for the entire reference itinerary.
How I would search for the hotel
Start by checking the total cost for the exact 23 December – 2 January dates. Christmas and New Year can change hotel pricing dramatically, so do not assume a normal December nightly rate will still apply.
Shortlist hotels by location and recent reviews. For this trip I would prioritise walking distance to the Old Town or a very short tram ride over saving a small amount far outside the centre.
If you use Booking.com as your starting point, the Karma browser extension can flag the same property cheaper elsewhere. Compare the exact room and conditions before paying.
Especially over holiday dates, a final metasearch can expose a better rate through another reputable booking portal.
Same dates, guests, room, breakfast, cancellation, taxes and payment conditions. A lower headline price is not necessarily cheaper if the terms are worse.
How many nights should you spend in Tallinn?
For a first winter visit, I think 4 nights is enough to see Tallinn properly and 5 nights is ideal if you want to slow down, warm up in cafés and museums, and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere rather than treating the city like a checklist.
Old Town, Town Hall Square, viewpoints, Telliskivi and one museum day. Possible, but you will be moving quickly.
Enough for the historic centre, Christmas Market, Kadriorg, Kalamaja / Telliskivi, museums and an evening out without rushing.
Definitely long enough to add Helsinki or another nearby destination while still keeping Tallinn as the main event for New Year.
Christmas Market + best areas to stay
The official Tallinn tourism calendar lists the Town Hall Square Christmas Market from 20 November 2026 through 6 January 2027. That means both the 23 December arrival and the entire New Year period fall inside the official market season. The market is in the heart of the Old Town, so staying within easy walking distance is genuinely useful on this trip.
New Year's Eve planning
If you want a specific ticketed club party, I would not leave this until the final week. Tallinn has a healthy nightlife scene, but New Year's Eve is a one-night peak event and the best-known venues can sell advance tickets, VIP areas or tables.
My target would be mid-November to early December once the 2026 NYE programmes are published. That gives you choice without needing to gamble on a walk-in.
If you want a reserved table, bottle service or a specific premium venue, I would book as soon as the event goes on sale.
If you are happy with bars and whatever looks lively on the night, you can be much more spontaneous — but do not assume the most popular ticketed events will have door availability.
Helsinki by ferry + where to go next
This is not just a theoretical side trip. The Tallinn–Helsinki route operates through winter, and the published Eckerö Line timetable covers 2026 and 2027. Normal crossings take roughly 2h15–2h30.
Dino 10-night idea: Tallinn 23–28 Dec · 5 nights → Helsinki 28–30 Dec · 2 nights → Tallinn 30 Dec–2 Jan · 3 nights. This keeps Christmas in Tallinn, gives Helsinki enough time to be worthwhile, and puts you back in Tallinn with a full day to spare before New Year's Eve.
Winter weather + safety
It is far too early for an actual 23 December–2 January forecast, so treat this as climate guidance rather than a prediction. Visit Tallinn says winter temperatures most commonly sit around 0 to –10°C, although winter conditions can range from roughly +5°C down to –25°C. Snow is common between December and March, but a white Christmas is not guaranteed — the city's own weather guide describes the Christmas snow chance as roughly 50/50.
Tallinn is generally straightforward for tourists, but pickpocketing can be an issue in Old Town bars and nightclubs.
Late-night visitors should also keep an eye on drinks; official travel advice notes that drink spiking and assaults are uncommon
but can occur around nightlife areas.
If you use a taxi after New Year's Eve, use a recognised taxi or app and verify the car details rather than accepting an unmarked ride.
In winter, I would actually worry almost as much about ice, snow and slippery medieval cobblestones.
The temperature can move above and below freezing, so streets can become slick very quickly.
If you are drinking, remember that local pours may be stronger than you expect.
Keep valuables secure in crowded bars and do not leave drinks unattended.
