The vibrant student population keeps Aarhus nightlife lively even on week nights, most night cafés and bars can be found by the picturesque river downtown, or in the narrower streets in the centre. Many clubs offers live music on most nights of the week.
While Aarhus is enjoyable all year round, we do reccommend a visit during summer to take advantage of the many events taking place such as the famous NorthSide Music Festival, and the Moesgård Viking Moot, one of the world's oldest and largest viking markets held each year in July.
There are many blue-flag sandy beaches on both ends of the city limits which can be easily reached by public transport or by renting a bycicle. Most beaches are equipped with clean toilets and food stalls.
